its a beautiful , well build camera .. its a real joy to use it... but.... although its a great performer at close ups and mid-distance themes, it cant give crisp clear images of far objects.. I tried using alll the menu combinations to achieve sharp landscape pictures but the camera refuses to give the desired sharpness,, so dissapointing,, ,, enhancing the sharpness by an editing program on PC, its the only way to have nice results. btw : the Pentax mx-1 and the Samsung EX2-F that I also ...

I want to be very fair with this camera. I bought it on impulse because I was going to a concert and the conditions of entry forbade 'professional type' cameras. So, I went to the concert with a Fuji X20, which I had bought 3 hours before. Pretty dumb. Long story short. I have a X100s, so I knew the menus and the controls were similar. I got some reasonable shots, but when the ISO went above 400, the shots were noisy. I know! I know! It's a point and shoot. What should I have expected? Well ...

For all the terrific features of the newer cameras, reviews seldom address the repair record or costs. We recently bought the X-20, whose on-off mechanism is a twist of the barrel. The lens barrel is attached to the body by three small plastic pins (less than 1/16" thick). We weree surprised that this crucial mechanism would be secured so flimsily. When the pins broke or detached Fuji wanted $370.00 for repair. They said the warranty is void because of "impact damage." My experience with ...

Two years ago I was looking for a camera that would have all manual functions as well as auto. I got the x10 and then changed to x20 last year. Years ago I had a 35mm, so I knew I could relearn basics of photography. PROS The Fuji x20 didn't not disappoint me. It is portable ideal for travel and great quality photos and I could afford the price range. For now this satisfies me until I can justify an expensive DSLR. I have not used all the functions yet, there's so many! There is a learning ...

I'd been looking for a small backup camera for my D700 kit and narrowed the choices down to the Sony NEX6 and the Fujifilm X20.  Not wanting to start another system and opting for both lower weight and lower cost, I bought the X20.  I am very impressed with its performance as are two Nikon DSLR owner friends. I find that the X20's JPEG output is more than satisfactory for on screen viewing.  My practice is to have photos taken with the D700 printed at 8x12" by Mpix for display under ...

X20 gives as much as can be expected from a compact camera. Even more. I've seen complaints about the image detailing. What can we expect - a small sensor. Manage to solve the problem of noise levels found -2, and ISO - 100. Fortunately good optics allows it. This is an excellent camera for your money and it is not worth the quality, which gives the camera with APS - C sensor. For serious work using a DSLR camera, but do not always need a large heavy camera with 2 - 3 lens kit. So now my ...

I'm still testing my new Fujifilm X20, so these are just some first impressions. Pros: + Fast, high quality lens + Feeling of manual zoom and all other manual controls + 3:2 mode uses top of display, exposure data in underneath it on black margin + 16:9 "grid" available + Build quality Cons: - Noise at long exposure images - RAW write times are a bit long - at least with my SD-card - You have to wait before you switch into playback mode - Image playback is just a short display of the picture, ...

I bought a X20 last week and tested it over the weekend in Spain. I needed a back up for my 6D with viewfinder, manual zoom and ability to shoot RAW. The X20 seemed to be my camera. The X20 is possibly the most beautiful camera out there but it is no replacement for 6D. The following review is focused on “this is what you will be missing if you shoot full frame” rather the qualities of the camera that we all know. So aimed at people like me that are thinking of buying the X20 as back up for DSRL.

Awesome camera and is my perfect companion for street photography. In spite of some some reviewers complaining about the Fujifilm X20's quirks like noise above 1600 ISO and 'water colour effect' of jpeg images straight out of the camera, I think this is an absolute value for money camera. I work around the quirks and try to take advantage of any shortcomings ... although there aren't very many. Amazingly fast startup, focussing, read write speed. Wonderful colours and pretty decent in camera ...

Pros: - Excellent color rendition - Focus is fast for walk-around photography - High-ISO noise performance is great, ISO-3200 still looks good - The silver-black model is eye-catching - in JPEG mode, you can have ISO bracketing, Film Simulation bracketing, and Dynamic Range (DR) bracketing. Handy for landscape/product/portrait photography Cons: - Battery is not powerful enough, keep a spare handy if you planned for whole-day shooting - It is not too compact - Auto-bracketing is only +/- 1 EV ...
