I have an HS20exr but no longer able to use the manual zoom. Is the SL1000 a good replacement since it has a power zoom? I want it for bird photos.

I bought this camera to take photos of wildlife and birds at a distance. The 50x zoom lens is useless for long distance. When I try to zoom into a bird whether is moving or still, the image of the subject comes back blurry and image noise is visible at high ISO. When you try to focus into subject, it just does a horrible job. I tried with a tripod, I also used sport mode and shutter priority for moving subjects and get the same blurry terrible images. Very disappointed with this...

hi, I am new to this forum and photography as a whole really, so bear with me. :-) I recently bought a Fujifilm finepix sl1000 and i am slowly getting to know how to use it to its full potential. The only thing i can't work out is how to take photographs of water and water falls with a silky effect.  Is this camera capable of taking such shots???  I have tried adjusting the shutter speed and lowering the aperture but the photo doesn't come out well... rubbish in fact! If this camera can take...

I have loved my FZ100 but I am ready to buy again. What I like about my Fz100 is the ability to video (slow mo, high def and reg), screw on 52mm filters (have several) and macro lenses and I already have a remote trigger. I also require a viewfinder, hot shoe and really like the fully articulated LCD. I limit the ISO to 400 and have been very pleased with the quality of photo and video. In fact 2 of my photos won in 2 competitions :) I wish it had a larger sensor. I think the weight is fine...

Hi, I am a camera enthusiast & own, at present, HS10 and want to buy "all in one, superzoom bridge camera" like HS50EXR or SL1000 or CanonSX50HS but cant decide which one to buy,( I normally depend on the DP Review & specs of the camera) Need an experts view / suggestions / advice on which one to buy. Previously, I have owned "Yashica FX3", "Minolta XD-11", "Nikon N-60" & then "Minolta DIMAGE1" & then "HS10" Looking forward to some valuable suggestions on this please. Thnx.

Hello, the truth is that I'm undecided, is my first camera, and nose CHOOSE which all recommend me, the T3i, but I hate, I found that looking more or less for the same price the SLT A55, is better, but now donot choose which, if the SLT A55, the HS35, FinePix or SL1000, and the truth is that nose which choose, help me, give me your opinions and remember this is my first camera :D!

I currently own the HS20, which I use mainly in EXR dynamic range mode. Sometimes I use the EXR SN mode where the sensor combines adjacent pixels, so that each of the larger 8m pixels lets in twice as much light. The new SL1000 and other new S series cameras have 16m pixels available, and no EXR modes. If you set the image size to 8m pixels in these cameras would it combine adjacent pixels to increase the light per pixel, or would it simply cut out half the pixels to reduce noise?ThanksA
