I have an HS30 EXR, I was wondering if there's any way around the 30 min record limit for video? I want to film something tomorrow, but it will I will need to use a fixed camera for a single shot.  On my old Canon I was able to instal CHDK, does anything like that exist for the Fuji or am I stuck with the limit? Bit disappointing if that is the case

As you can see here, DP completely ignores and disregards Fuji, specially HS & EXR lineup and doesn't neither review nor publish their sample photos, even a preview! But a toy 100$ camera from other brands (specially Canon) has review, preview, sample photos, comparison studio photos, rating , ... WHY?!

Hi. Can please someone help me with my problem? Let me say at first, that I'm a total novice in photography and so there is a big possibility that I am doing something wrong. The problem is that lots of pictures I take with my camera looks like they were drawn with crayons, when you look at them at 100% zoom. I tried lots of different settings, but I haven't found any that would satisfy me. Below are two images where this can be seen. Can someone please tell me if this is normal and I just...

every time i think i have this camera figured out, it breaks on me... :-( a couple of months ago, i was taking pictures in broad daylight. the camera suddenly started underexposing. when i say "underexposing", i mean WAY under: i usually shoot A mode, and the camera kept trying to go bellow 1/1000 sec or even 1/3000 sec, which it didn't need even in broad daylight: the pictures came up black. if i exposed manually, it worked just fine, but otherwise no luck. i called fuji, who told me to send...

Hi,   I just bought the Fuji HS30 EXR last week and took a few pictures. They all look pretty good. My son has a Jr. Prom tomorrow night and I am looking for suggestions for taking pictures indoors and outdoor in what is expected late day sun.. I am looking to keep it as easy as possible. I have not had enough time to really test the camera out. Thank you, Dennis

I am a complete dummy when it comes to camera's but would like to learn. any tips as to what could have happened? most of the shots were blurred..etc...would appreciate any feedback ..... just to let you know, not too fluent in...

Hi! I want to upgrade from a simple point-and-shoot camera to a bridge camera (also called superzoom camera). I've found five possible candidates: the Fujifilm Finepix HS 30EXR, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ150, the Nikon COOLPIX P510, the Panasonic Lumix FZ38 and the Pentax X-5. I'm here to ask you guys which camera you think would be best for me. What I want to do with the camera: shoot street fashion photography - this means that I would like to have a camera with a lens that has a possible...

The Lumix has a nice feature: when recording video, the camera also supplies an "index" JPEG frame with the same file number. It makes sorting and finding video recordings a whole lot easier. I haven't found a way to do this on the HS30, other than taking a still while shooting each video. Is there a setting to do this automatically?

So...I wanted to upgrade from a P&S after a couple of years but I didn't have a budget in which I could buy a DSLR body and then go on to buy lenses etc. and then decided on buying a superzoom but am torn between 2 of them (Budget is around $350 max, not a penny more and i'm also not interested in refurbished/used cameras)So which Superzoom (Fujifilm HS30EXR / Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ60 ) would offer me better IQ, IS and AF speed. I will be mostly shooting - BIF- Wildlife- Macros ( I tend to...
