In my opinion, very good (may the best) current market camera for beginner like me. I considered Panasonic - but it doesn't have wide zoom. Also I considered a Nikon SLR - but with an adequate lens it's twice/three times more expensive. Besides wide zoom, I appreciate the most mechanical zooming and standard batteries. I'd appreciate a more robust battery lock and tripod mount, although I haven't had a problem with it yet, the construction doesn't look reliable. Image quality is very nice ...

Best camera for amateur and good as second camera for professional too. Very sharp, clear images up to ISO 800, ISO 1600 also usable when shotting RAW. Exelent lense begins at 28 mm, with very fine manuall zoom. Bought this camera 2 weeks ago and fully satisfacted. Note: AUTO Mode hardly usefull, try other program modes or manual modes. Problems: None

Features, mainly 28 mm at the beginning, top. Image quality for this money unbeatable, nothing better on the market. And it makes fun to work with it.

I've had loads of compact and slr film cameras in the past, too many to mention, and i got my first digital, a fuji mx1200 7 years ago. great little p&s. then i moved up to a panny fz1, fz10, fz20, a fuji a500 for the wife, and i got the s6500 a week ago, while out shopping for an fz50. as it was the last in stock, a display model, the retailer gave it to me with a 512MB card, for a ridiculously low price! this is the closest any digital has looked and felt like a dslr to me. I like the wide ...

Recently purchased this model as a replacement for my existing S5000 model. The body is so much bigger, in fact it is the same size as my Pentax *IST DS (so very big or not bad considering your point of view). However dont let that deter you, it is also a lot lighter. The image quality is very good (as was proved in my recent trip to Poland) although as in previous models, the min aperature is F8 only, a shame! There is still a little fringing in extremis, although the noise is pretty good in ...

I have had this camera for 5 months now. First reason for choosing it was image quality and about that I'm quite satisfied. I think this 6MP sensor delivers the best image quality in its class and beats many 7 and 8MP digicams too (see samples in my photoblog vitaalpinadotblogspotdotcom). As a recent review (imaging-resource) states: "I'd take the Fujifilm S6000fd over many higher-resolution competing superzoom models, and even over some digital SLRs. The images speak for themselves, some of ...

Coming from a Canon A70, the S6500fd (S6000fd) is a great upgrade. I especially bought the camera for its wide-angle lens, but I really like to play with the zoom and the macro opportunities. It is a extremely versatile camera, capable of taking beautiful shots... but not with the AUTO option! Please stay away from this one, as it unnecessarily increases the ISO value. I tend to use the manual zoom and P with a fixed ISO of 400. For me, this is an easy way to start and explore all other ...

OVERALL SUMMARY .. By taking care when shooting and then by investing (not inconsiderable) time in post processing, this camera is capable of producing very decent images. Like most cameras, it has a number of irritations and annoyances which could/ should have been designed out from the start but the one blemish that can sometimes really take the edge off performance is highlight and to a lesser extent shadow clipping. In terms of value for money, however, this camera must be pretty near ...
