Nice device. the face recognition is only a little usefull when photgraphing people. Zooming and focussing works great with the rings. Flash pops up like a jack-in-the-box and got me startled at first. The video-mode is great quality. The camera adjusts and focusses pretty quick when filming around in dark and light conditions and when zooming. 640x480, 30fps, great quality; You can film about 14 minutes until your 1GB picturecard is full. This not why you buy a photo-camera, but it's great ...

No image stabilization (this enforces too high ISO) and no manual control of sharpness, contrast or color saturation. The camera forgets the self-timer after every shot and hides this option in the menu.

A friend of mine has owned this great machine for two weeks and I used it for some time. Pros - Large, solid body. - Non-extending,manual zoom lens. - Full of features and manual controls - Low noise. IS0 800 better than ISO 400 of my FZ5. - AA batteries. Cons - I wish EVF would be on the left, like my FZ5, not in the middle. - No IS. Problems: Place of EVF and lack of IS.

Used camera since end of april.I was using Fuji 2800zoom till now. Best ultra zoom digital camera in market for it's price. I bought it for 299EUR, SandDisk xD 1GB for 17EUR and Signa Polarizer Multi Coating 58mm for 45EUR. What I like: - design of camera - very good grip for my hands - nice manual zoom ring and grip on it - 28-300 range - button for control of exposure(used before every shot) - excellent flash(must be set to -2/3 in menu) - quick start up time - uses AA bateries in case of Li-on

I use this camera for about a week now. I has the same handling as an SLR but without the cost: I bought it for only 308 Euro at amazon. SLR with the same zoom lens is about 1000 Euro, so this is my reference for judging the camera. Great picture quality with the handling of an SLR! Sensor and lense fit perfectly. High ISO modes unbeaten by any digital compact camera (ISO 800 much better than ISO 400 with CANON A530, ISO 1600 like the Canon with 400 ISO). Very useful 28-300mm lense. Nice to ...

Splendid camera for the money. excellent colors, very very useful focal length lens. Good battery life. Image qaulity is really good. I can see the compression of the JPEGs is a little harsh, but they still look good, and there is a raw mode. I tried a 9500 last year, and I really would rate this 6500 more highly . Not so robust as my digital SLR, nor as fast but does a great job for everyday photography. Problems: Dont like the battery door. RAW mode /white balance ought to be ...

After two trips to NZ and 700+ pics I am very impressed with the quality of the results for a camera <$600. I have had excellent results especially with indoors, lower light shots of faces even though I haven't turned on face detection yet. Some tweaking has been required in high contrast shots to bring up face detail in the highlights. I would reccomend this camera to anyone from novice up as it will give very good results in auto mode and you can learn to use the many other features as you ...
