amazing for the price, full manual control and even a grandma mode (full auto), produces high quality pictures. Camera feels like high quality pro equipment with price of kodak throwaway... If u turn off the camera, sequential shot will revert back to single shot, minor annoyance for me. This is the best quality picture for the $ at this time IMO.

Kick butt for the price I paid..$209.00... An update.. After almost a year I would say if your looking for an inexpensive digicam and this is available... Get it!! Still gives great shots and is a great cam for the price!! Problems: XD memory.... but others, like compact flash are slow... No focus ring.... or zoom ring... Small EVF and LCD screen... No hot shoe.

absolutely brilliant camera. feels great in the hands, sharp images, fast focus. easy to carry around as well. Problems: better sequential shooting would have been nice, but not a deal-breaker. however, a lack of on-camera flash kept me from enjoying this camera completely. an upgrade to the s20 pro fixed this. stil, l i recommend the 5100/5500 whole-heartedly.

Good amateur camera After five months of using the 5100 (5500) it has proven itself as a good all round photographic tool for amateur photography. So far I have used it for motor shows, wedding, portraits, social occasions and traditional tourist landscape type shots. I usually edit the images in Paintshop Pro 8 in order to enhance the photos for printing. It helps to send the photos to a proper professional lab. Editing usually includes contrast, clarifying, edge preserving smooth and ...

Problems: nenhum problema!

So far the camera has worked very well. I have had a couple of out of focus shots after taking about 200 pictures. The qulity of the pictures is very good. The camera is very easy to use, I learnt how to use the basic functions in a very short amount of time. I would recommend this camera to anyone who wants to move up a step from compact cameras. I was also very impressed with the video mode. Problems: The shutter lag is bad, it's hard to take pics of things moving quikly with out losing ...

OK. I purchased this camera one month ago today after reading some of the good reviews here in this forum. I got it for $249 (after rebate) and I am extremely happy with it. The size and handling characteristics are first rate, reminding me of the first real camera I ever owned, the Nikon FE-2. This Fuji fits my hand like a glove and the controls could not have been placed better. Like most people, I was initially drawn to the 10X zoom. This is a great feature and the zoom works well. With a ...

I'm from Thailand. Forgive me for my poor English. I've just started being interested in photography. Now I'm totally mad about it and I'm thinking about buying my first 'great all-round' digicam I can afford. I have 2 cameras in mind: Fuji S5500 and Canon A95. Both are nice but I'd prefer S5500 even though it's been released earlier than A95. A95 is good for its 1.8" swivel LCD. This is what I don't like about S5500's small LCD. But who cares? We'll view the photos we take on the computer ...
