I recently got my hands on the A500, and I'm very disappointed by it's perfomance. The Finepix A500 is one of the most basic entry level digicams on the market. And entry level here means also very entry level performance: Some pros: Low price, good battery life Cons: Ultra clumsy controls, specially the zoom button, very poor dynamic range, low light performance is a real shame, very often out of focus, annoying shutter lag, IQ overall doesn't life up to the Fujifilm standards, often very ...

A cheap camera that produces quite good results. + nice battery life (AA => up to 100 images; decent rechargeables 2500+mAh => up to 500 images) + high image quality (concerning the low price) ~ different modes (sports, landscape, ...) advance the (esp. sports) otherwise poor results - no image stabilisation, only ISO 100-400 - very small display - slow autofocus (~1s) - poor zoom regulation (the zoom button is a mess) - lacks brilliance in processing sunlight pictures, poor results in heavy ...

This is one of the best cameras I've ever owned. Before buying it I did a download of samples pictures of many cameras (Fuji E550 - Kodak Z740 - and Fuji A500) and then printed in a lab photo. The image quality of the A500 is incredible even with 2 MP. I showed the photos made with these cameras to some friends and relatives and 8 of 10 of them have preferred the samples printed of A500. The samples look very real-life and with natural colors. The camera is very easy to use and fast. I ...

This is just the camera to have for quick shoots with a fantastic picture quality. No complicated stuff. The images obtained can be bettered by only expensive professional cameras. The color base is very true to life and even in subdued light depth of field obtained is good. People who want true to life colour photos and with this budget need not look at any other camera, Just GO for it! Problems: None since I have bought this camera (4 months).

Now that Fujifilm has introduced their magnificent Super CCD HR sensors into their entry model cameras and the end result are bright pictures that the Kodak C340 and Nikon 5600 severly dissatisfy in. Overall it will be for the entry level user and it should be a heavenly gate for gaining loyalty towards Fujifilm. While some gripes do exist, it is then again an entry level and even some features cannot be matche of that of a Canon A series. Problems: 1. Zoom button is very unfriendly and ...
