This was a pro-sumer camera I really wanted at the time. Saw and held it at the PhotoKina 2000. What a gem it was... A nice little camera with sufficient features. Resonably good image quality (first generation super-ccd), lot of zoom at that time and very fast. Still have it. Problems: Never REALLY liked the electronic viewfinder...

Hi, I have a second hand Fuji FinePix 4900 for testing before I will decide to buy it or no. The price is 225€ and it include the camera, a wide angle, 3 smart media (16+32+64MB), 2 NP80 batteries and the cables for TV and USB. The camera have a small scratch on the lens (BRRR) but it seem that this scratch don't appear on the pictures (neither on low or high resolution or on uniform colour subject) so it can be considered a cosmetic problem. I like the camera (because of manual settings and ...

Its a good value for your money, but..... The auto focus is slow, and often inaccurate, I've found that I can get far better quality photos by manually focusing. Battery life is a joke at best, and having 2 batteries is still not nearly enough for an afternoon of shooting. Photo quality is poor, I've gotten far better photos with my Sony CD1000 (Which is very old at this point and only 2.1MP) Than I've gotten from the 4900ZOOM. Ergonimically, its well suited for those of us that have large ...

I purchased a used Fuji 4900 from KEH.com after having good experiences with the Fuji MX-2900 (an even older Fuji digicam). I wanted the 6x zoom and additional features offered with the 6mp S602, but I didn't want to pay the price. When I discovered the 4mp 4900, my prayers were answered. The 4900 is a ful-featured prosumer camera. I've used the Nikon 5700, the Olympus E-10 and C-5050, and even the Canon G2. In my opinion, the old Fuji 4900 is just as good ... if not better than all of these ...

As a novice in digital photography from the conventional 35mm amatuer, I personally feel that this little gem has in it, the essence of a prosumer level product with newbie operations. Good grip, hotshoe, SP, AP, Continuous mode, movie clip(pretty useless). Previews the pictures before saving it into your memory card is great comparing to the conventional cameras. Great for novices and beginners who wants to have a feel, the different settings for exposure setting etcs. Got mine 2nd hand at ...

The Fuji 4900 is by no boubt the finest Digital Camera on the market for the money. The 6x zoom is clear and crisp, with a maximum apateur of f2.8 it is fast enough to shoot in many existing lighting conditions. The auto focus on the 4900 out performs every Digital camera I have ever used. The meus are easy to use and follow. For a beginner, use the auto mode and it's a point and shoot camera. For the seasoned PRO, you may use aperutre or shutter priority and even straight up, full manual. ...

I have ha this 4900 since march 2000, and all I can say is that it is great in every aspect. Image quality is very good, and correct, and opnce you get used to its features, your images are with near perfect exposure. Autofocus is great and precise so is the metering. The image quality is very good. Printing at Fuji centres, I have printed high definition prints with high detail up to 12 X 10, and up to A4 using my inkjet. Absolultly no regrets. Problems: Short battery life Ocasional ...

Excellent, When I first got camera I thought I had bought one with a little too many features but after thouroughly studying manual I've had very little problems. Other reviews have complained about printing 8 X10. I just got an HP Photosmart 7150 printer and I'm amazed at the quality.

very good price/quality. Is very important the slot for the flash but not work with ttl mode... Problems: some difficulty to take the focus on some images. Quite good macro but work for distance > 10 cm
