Shooting mode information display

The K-7 we borrowed is a pre-production model running early firmware, so its displays and options may change between this point and final production. As such we have used a mixture of our own screen grabs with some images supplied by Pentax. This section will be comprehensively re-assessed as part of the review process to ensure it correctly represents the final camera's behavior.

First impressions are that the K-7 has a promising looking interface and one that incorporates many of the lessons that Pentax clearly learned in the development of the K-m (on which we quite liked the interface).

The control panel screen shows the camera settings. The camera we had was not close enough to final production to assess how well this system works.

Play mode

Pressing the Play button will display the last image taken or the last image on the SD card, the display mode will depend on the last selected setting. You can also enable blinking highlights by setting the 'Bright Portion' option in the playback menu. Change the display mode by pressing the INFO button.
