Casio announces Exilim EX-H20G with Hybrid GPS
Pre-Photokina 2010: Eight months after exhibiting a prototype in CES 2010, Casio has announced the Exilim EX-H20G with Hybrid GPS. The technology enables the camera to track the camera when indoors or away from the GPS satellite signals. It uses three-axis accelerometers and its three-way direction sensor to determine the location since it last received a signal. The H20G is built around the company's EX-H15 inheriting its 14.1MP sensor, 10x (24-240mm) zoom lens and 3.0" LCD . It can also record 720p HD videos with H.264 compression, and features a faster Exilim Engine HS engine.

Casio introduces Exilim EX-ZR10 with back-illuminated sensor
Pre-Photokina 2010: Casio has introduced the Exilim EX-ZR10 with a 12.4Mp back-illuminated CMOS sensor. Powered by the latest Exilim Engine HS engine, it can record high-speed movies at up to 480 fps as well as 1080p full HD movies. It comes with a 28-196mm equivalent lens and 3.0 inch LCD, and features in-built HDR processing plus 360 degrees panoramic image capture with what it calls a 'Slide Panorama' mode.

Casio releases Exilim EX-Z2300 compact camera
Pre-Photokina 2010: Casio has introduced the Exilim EX-Z2300. Similar to the Z2000 introduced in January this year, it is built around a 14Mp sensor, 26-130mm optical zoom lens and 3.0" LCD, and records 720p HD videos. It features the company's latest Single Frame SR Zoom feature that extends the camera's zoom range while claiming to maintain high resolution image quality. Its 'Dynamic Photo' option enables users to add preset graphics to images, including a monkey doing a handstand and a dog riding a bicycle (yes really).

Casio launches Exilim EX-Z16 budget compact
Pre-Photokina 2010: Casio has launched the Exilim EX-Z16 budget compact camera. Sporting an image-stabilized 12.1 Mp sensor, 2.7 inch LCD and 3x optical zoom (35.5 to 106.5mm equiv), it includes an Easy Mode, widescreen video recording and a YouTube capture mode. The Z16 will be available from the end of this month at retail price of $99.99

Casio releases EX-S200 and EX-Z800 digital compacts
Casio has released the Exilim EX-S200 and EX-Z800 digital compacts. The 14MP image-stabilized cameras feature the company's latest Exilim Engine 5.0 processor with 'super-resolution' context-sensitive image processing technology. Both offer 4x zoom lenses starting a 27mm equivalent focal length and use the super resolution technology to improve the effect of the 1.5x digital zoom. They also share 2.7" LCDs and can record standard 720p HD videos. The identical specced cameras differ physically with the EX-S200 maintaining the S series' slim body while the EX-Z800 features a slightly larger Zoom series design.

Casio releases Exilim EX-H5 compact superzoom
Casio Europe has released the Exilim EX-H5 compact superzoom with 10x (24-240mm equiv.) zoom lens. The 12.1MP image stabilized camera comes with a 2.7 inch LCD, faster Exilim Engine 5.0 processor and features 720p HD video recording. The camera will be available from the end of this month at a suggested retail price of £149.99. The company has also announced the Exilim EX-FH25 superzoom, previously available in other markets, is now available in the Europe at an SRP of £399.99.

Casio releases EX-S7 & EX-Z35 digital compacts
PMA 2010: Casio has announced the Exilim EX-S7 and EX-Z35 digital compacts. Both offer 12MP sensors, 3x (35-106mm equiv.) zoom lenses and feature direct web upload options. The EX-S7 comes with 720p HD video recording and has a slightly larger LCD size of 2.7” compared to the EX-Z35’s 2.5". They also feature a Dynamic Photo option that enables users to add graphics and create e-greetings in camera.

Casio shows EX-10HG 'hybrid GPS' camera prototype
CES 2010: Casio has unveiled a prototype compact camera with what the company is calling 'Hybrid GPS'. The EX-10HG appears to be essentially a modified Exilim EX-H10 that aims to allow the use of GPS when indoors or away from the GPS satellite signals. According to a report from Japanese site DC Watch, the camera uses three-axis accelerometers and its orientation sensor to calculate how far it has traveled since it was last able to receive a signal. Casio unveils four Exilim digital compact cameras
Pre-CES 2010: Casio has announced four cameras in its Exilim line of digital compacts. From the top, we have the EX-FH100 with a wide-angle 10x optical zoom lens starting at 24mm, a 10MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor that allows high-speed movie recording at up to 1,000 fps, image stabilization and RAW capture. Next we have the EX-H15, EX-Z2000 and EX-Z550, all featuring the company's latest EXILIM Engine 5.0 processor and stabilized 14.1MP CCD sensors. The EX-H15 includes the same lens as the EX-FH100, a 3.0 inch LCD and offers a 1000-shot battery life. The EX-Z2000 features a 5x (26-130mm equiv.) optical zoom lens and a 3 inch LCD, while the EX-Z550 includes a 4x(26-104mm equiv.)optical zoom lens and a smaller 2.7 inch LCD.

Casio unveils EX-G1 rugged compact camera
Casio has unveiled the world's slimmest 'rugged' compact in the shape of Exliim EX-G1 - its thinnest side measures just 20mm (0.78"). The first in the company's new 'Exilim G' series of weatherproof cameras, named in reference to the company's well-known G-Shock series of watches. The G1 is designed to be dustproof, waterproof up to 3 meters for an hour, coldproof down to -10°C (14°F) and shock-resistant for drops of up to 2.13 meters. It incorporates a 38-114mm equivalent lens, 2.5" LCD, 12.1MP sensor and includes features such as Intelligent AF, Best Shot shooting mode and Interval shooting. Priced at US $299 and £279 GBP, the camera will start shipping from December 2009.

Casio adds back-lit CMOS for EX-FH25 & EX-FC150
Casio Japan has released two digital cameras that see the addition of 10MP back-illuminated CMOS sensors to existing models in the Exilim line-up. The Exilim EX- FH25 and EX-FC150 follow the EX-FH20 superzoom and EX-FC100 compact respectively, sharing similar features such as image stabilization, burst shooting rates of up to 40fps and movies at 1000fps.

Casio introduces EX-450 & EX-Z90 digital compacts
Pre-IFA 2009: Casio has announced a pair of Exilim Zoom series digital compacts. The EX-Z450 and EX-Z90 feature an Intelligent AF function that attempts to identify photographic subjects beyond just looking for humans as faces. The Z450, which has a 4x zoom lens starting at 28mm equivalent, also incorporates an enhanced version of the company's Dynamic Photo mode that now allows a moving subject to be cropped from a single shot, as long as the background flat and of a single color. Both feature 12.1MP sensors and offer HD recording.

Casio enables tethered shooting in EX-F1 digital camera
Casio has released a software enabling tethered shooting with its EX-F1 high-speed superzoom compact. The software allows the camera to be controlled from your computer via a USB cable. Casio recommends updating camera firmware to v2.00 before using the software.

Casio unveils Exilim EX-H10 ultra-compact superzoom
Casio has unveiled its first ultra-compact superzoom in the shape of Exilim EX-H10. Its 10X optical zoom starts at an extremely wide 24mm equivalent. Its battery can shoot an impressive 1000 images on a single charge (using standard CIPA tests). The 12.1MP camera also has a 3.0" LCD and features such as Auto Best Shot and Make-up Shot.

Casio introduces Exilim EX-Z29 compact camera
PMA 2009: Casio has introduced the Exilim EX-Z29 entry level compact camera. Sporting a 10.1 Mp sensor, 2.7 inch LCD and 3x optical zoom (37.5 to 112.5mm equiv), it includes an Easy Mode, widescreen video recording and customizable focusing frames and menu screens. Priced at $149.99, the camera will be available in black, pink, blue, silver and purple.

Casio unveils six Exilim compact cameras
CES 2009: Casio has announced six new Exilim compacts with some interesting new features. The EX-FS10 and EX-FC100 offer burst shooting at 30fps and movies at 1000fps. They also feature a Slow Motion View option that lets the user watch the movement of the subject in slow motion before capture. Next up are the EX-Z400, EX-Z270 and EX-S12, which feature the Dynamic Photo function to cut-and-paste moving subjects on to new backgrounds. Last comes the EXILIM EX-S5 offering a new body design, customizable focusing frames and wide-screen video recording.

Casio announces Exilim EX-FH20 high speed camera
Casio has launched the Exilim EX-FH20 high speed digital compact camera. Building on the interest in its EX-F1 model, the FH20 offers a burst rate of up to 40fps and movies at 1000fps. The camera is built around a 9.1MP, 1/2.3” CMOS sensor and 20x zoom lens (26-520mm equiv) Priced at £399, the EX-FH20 is considerably less expensive than the EX-F1 and will be available from October.

Casio launches EX-Z300, EX-Z250 & EX-Z85
Casio has launched the 10.1MP EXILIM EX-Z300, 9.1MP EX-Z250 and EX-Z85. Both Z300 and Z520 have 3.0” LCDs and 4x (28mm - 112mm equiv) zoom lenses. Apart from Image Stabilization, Noise and Moiré reduction, these two cameras have features such as Makeup function, Multi-Motion Capture and an advanced Night mode. The EX-Z85, with a smaller 2.6” LCD and 3x (38 - 114mm equiv) zoom lens, has features such as Face Recognition, Auto Shutter and an Easy mode for beginners.

Casio EX-Z100, EX-Z200: First 28mm equiv. for Casio
CES 2008: Casio's EX-Z100 and EX-Z200 are 10.1 megapixel compacts featuring, for the first time on a Casio, 28 - 112mm equivalent zoom lenses. Both models feature Auto Shutter and Auto Best Shot, whereby the camera analyses the scene and shooting conditions and selects the appropriate exposure settings. The EX-Z200 also includes CCD-Shift image stabilization. The pair will be available from March 2008, the EX-Z100 priced at $279.99 and the EX-Z200 $329.99.
