Just posted: Our Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX100V preview samples gallery. The HX100V is the latest offering in Sony's H series of superzooms. It combines a 30x zoom lens (26-810mm equiv.) with Sony's latest 16MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor. We've put together a sample gallery that uses the camera in a variety of shooting conditions and including several sweep panorama examples.

Just posted: Updated Panasonic DMC-FZ150 studio comparison shots. We've just re-shot our standard studio test scene with the latest firmware (1.0), and these are now in the comparison tool. During the process, we were able to compare the improvements made between the pre-production image output from firmware v0.2 and the final, consumer-ready quality. As well as updating the samples, we've made a demonstration of the difference - click for more.

Just Posted: Studio comparison shots from the Panasonic DMC-FZ150 superzoom. We've had a DMC-FZ150 in our studio for a few days now and, as promised, have shot our standard test scene with it. The FZ150 replaces the FZ100 and incorporates a lower-resolution 12MP CMOS sensor that the company says will outperform its predecessor's 14MP chip. Like the FZ100 the FZ150 records Raw images, which we've also included in our studio comparison tool.

Just posted: JPEG and Raw samples from the Sigma SD1. We've been using a production Sigma SD1 for a little while now, and although we have only just started our studio testing, we want to share some of our early 'real world' samples with you. In this gallery you will find images of a broad variety of subjects, shot at different ISO settings, in both raw and JPEG mode (albeit using, for now, a very limited range of lenses). We have converted the raw files using Sigma's Photo Pro 5.0 software 'to taste', and performed some minor tweaking of the resultant TIFF files in Adobe Camera Raw.

Just Posted: Studio comparison shots from the Sony DSC-HX100V. We've just got hold of Sony's latest superzoom, the 16.2MP HX100 and shot our standard test scene with it. It's built around the latest 1/2.3" (6.17 x 4.55mm) back illuminated CMOS sensor and offers a vast 27-810mm equivalent 30x zoom. Being Sony's top-of-the-range superzoom, it features a manual control ring that can be switched between controlling zoom and or manual focus. We also have one of its main rivals - the Panasonic DMC-FZ150 in the studio and will add that to the comparison tool as soon as we can.

We've been using a pre-production Panasonic DMC-FZ150 superzoom for a couple of days and have put together a previews samples gallery from the camera. We've selected a 39-image samples gallery shot in a variety of situations and at variety of ISO settings, to give a taste of how this latest 12MP MOS sensor performs. We've also uploaded three videos shot in the camera's 1080p60 Full HD mode. As always, as well as being able to view the images and videos, you can download the full-size originals.

Updated: Nikon CoolPix P7100 hands-preview with image samples. Following the launch of the Nikon CoolPix P7100 yesterday, we've updated our hands-on preview with a small gallery of image samples. These pictures were taken in the brief time that we spent with a late pre-production P7100, prior to its announcement. We're expecting a production sample soon, and we will update this gallery with more images at the earliest possible opportunity.

Just Posted: Panasonic DMC-FZ47 preview real-world samples gallery. We've had Panasonic's latest FZ-series superzoom for the past few days. The FZ47 (FZ48 in Europe) is based around a 12MP CCD sensor and offers a 24x zoom, covering a range equivalent to a 25-600mm lens. We shot in a variety of situations, including a floodlit football match, to show what that combination can and can't do. We've also prepared a series of images at all the camera's different ISO settings and taken test shots using several of its noise reduction settings, to give a feel for the image quality options available on this JPEG-only model.

Just Posted: Olympus E-P3 studio Raw files and Raw conversions. We've been given access to an early beta of Adobe Camera Raw 6.5 which will include Raw support for the recently-announced Olympus PEN E-P3. We've used it to process our standard studio samples, allowing direct comparisons between the PEN and its peers. We've also included the original Raw files for download so that you can put them through your own image workflow as Raw processors become available that offer support.

Just Posted: Our AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 G sample gallery. We've had access to Nikon's latest inexpensive 50mm prime lens for a couple of weeks and have put together a 41-image sample gallery to show some of what it can do. The AF-S G version means there's finally an inexpensive Nikon 50mm lens that will autofocus on the company's entry-level bodies, such as the D40, D60, D3100 and D5100. Here we've shot it using both the DX D7000 and the FX D3S to show how it performs on both formats.

Just Posted: Our samples gallery from the Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm F1.4 ASPH. We've had the chance to borrow a production example of this fast 50mm-equivalent lens and have prepared a samples gallery to show some of what it can do. We've also shot a couple of comparisons against the popular Lumix G 20mm F1.7 ASPH to see how the two lenses compare when used wide open, and give some idea of what the slightly longer focal length and wider aperture mean in terms of background defocus and subject isolation. Updated with additional comparison shots.

Just posted: Tamron 18-270mm F3.5-6.3 sample gallery. We've borrowed a Canon-mount version of Tamron's latest comparatively-compact DSLR superzoom lens and taken the opportunity to shoot with it in a variety of situations. The Tamron 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD, to give it its full name, is an image-stabilized 15x zoom for APS-C sensor cameras, available in Canon, Nikon and Sony mounts. Despite the impressive zoom range, when un-extended the lens is a mere 3.5" (89mm) long, making it an appealing travel and general-use lens for DSLR owners. This latest version is one of the first to include Tamron's piezoelectric autofocus drive motor.

Just posted: Updated Nikon D5100 samples gallery. Following publication of our 9-page hands-on preview of the D5100 earlier this week, we've taken advantage of a trip to Los Angeles (and some correspondingly nice weather) to expand the samples gallery. We've added nine images to the gallery, taken at a range of different settings and we're currently working hard to turn our preview into a full in-depth review as soon as possible.

Just Posted: Studio Samples from the Canon Rebel T3i/EOS 600D and Pentax K-r. We're working away on a series of enthusiast-level DSLRs at the moment and have just finished processing the shots from our standard studio scene. Both cameras have been added to our comparison tool and can be accessed from all of our recent reviews. We've added a couple of comparison pages to our Rebel T3i / EOS 600D preview that pit the two cameras side-by-side and against two of their peers.

Just Posted: Our beta samples gallery from the Fujifilm FinePix X100. We've been lucky enough to have been able to borrow a pre-production sample of Fujifilm's hotly-anticipated large sensor, retro-styled compact camera, and have put together a samples gallery to give an initial flavour of its capabilities. This includes images shot in a variety of lighting conditions, in both colour and black and white, and across a range of ISOs, apertures and subject distances.

Just posted: Olympus XZ-1 sample photos. While we were attending CES in Las Vegas, we were offered a production-standard version of the latest enthusiast compact from Olympus. The 10Mp camera with its 28-112mm lens and impressive maximum aperture range of F1.8-2.5 sounded too good to resist. We carried it with us everywhere we went and have prepared a sample gallery of shots including a range of ISO settings and apertures to help give an insight into the camera's performance.

Just Posted: Comparison samples from the Pentax 645D. We've had Pentax's long-awaited 40 megapixel medium format DSLR in the office for a couple of days and have used it to shoot our standard test scene. The $10,000 camera is the highest resolution camera ever to be pointed at our test subjects and its huge 44x33mm sensor has certainly done an impressive job. As well as providing a range of image settings for the studio scene, we've also prepared a small gallery of sample images. All the images and their raw files (DNG format for the 'real-world' samples) are available for download.

Just posted: Our Panasonic GH2/14mm F2.5 samples gallery. Panasonic's latest video-focused Micro Four Thirds camera features an entirely new 18MP multi-aspect-ratio sensor and has been released alongside a 14mm F2.5 pancake lens. We've got hold of production examples of both and have taken them out shooting to get a flavor of how they perform with a variety of lighting conditions, subject distances and apertures. Rather than shooting the same scene at all ISO settings, we've shot an outdoor scene at ISO 160 to ISO 800 and indoors 1600 to 12,800 to give a more realistic impression of what you can expect in situations you might actually encounter.

We have just received a production sample of Canon's latest enthusiast compact and have put together a gallery of sample shots to give you an impression of the image quality of this premium compact. The gallery includes a mix of shots using various ISOs and apertures, shot under a variety of lighting conditions to give a feel for what you can expect.

Just posted! Our Samsung NX100 preview samples gallery. We were given a pre-production Samsung NX100 at Photokina last week and had a chance to shoot with the camera and the new 20mm pancake lens over the weekend. Unfortunately the German autumn skies were rather gray but we'll update this gallery with a few blue sky shots the next time we get to see the sun again here in London. In any case this gallery should give you an idea of what the NX100 has to offer in terms of image quality and help shorten the waiting time for the full review.
