Just Posted! We've had a Panasonic GH1 to play with for a couple of weeks and - since it's going to be a while until we can publish a full review - we thought we'd produce a quick gallery of stills and a handful of HD quality movies to give you an idea of what the camera (and the new 14-140mm zoom lens) are capable of (there's also one shot from the new 7-14mm super wide zoom - more to follow).
Still (photo) Samples
There are 26 images in the samples gallery. Please do
not reproduce any of these images on a website or any newsletter / magazine
without prior permission (see our copyright
page). We make the originals available for private users to download
to their own machines for personal examination or printing (in conjunction
with this review), we do so in good faith, please don't abuse it.
Unless otherwise noted images taken with no particular
settings at full resolution. A reduced size image (within 1024 x 1024
bounds) is provided to be more easily viewed in your browser. As always
the original untouched image is available by clicking on this reduced
image.
Updated 19/5/2009 - a few higher ISO samples included (note that the link to the gallery has changed)
Video Samples
These movies were shot using the highest quality AVCHD Lite mode (720p) and converted to H.264 MPEG format (.m4v) using VLC with minimal compression. The quality of these converted files is visibly lower than the 'raw' AVCHD, but they should give you an idea of the kind of output the sensor is capable of (all where shot using the new 14-140mm ASPH HD lens). Below each thumbnail you'll also find a link to the original '.MTS' file - these are better quality but cannot be opened unless you have special software (such as VLC).
Caution: These are large files!
