Adobe has release a beta of v4.6 of its Adobe Camera Raw plugin. The latest version, that works with Adobe CS3, includes coverage for the Nikon D700 and D90 DSLRS. The Fujifilm FinePix IS Pro is also catered for, alongside the Nikon Coolpix P6000 compact camera. Update: Cameras from Sony, Olympus, Canon and Sigma receive preliminary support.

The latest upgrade may help reassure users unsure whether ACR would be updated before the arrival of any Photoshop update. The inclusion of the P6000 should help calm any fears about the camera's non-NEF RAW output. The update is available for both Windows and Mac platforms.

Receiving preliminary support in the ACR 4.6 are:

• Canon EOS 50D
• Sony DSLR-A900
• Olympus SP-565 UZ
• Sigma DP1
