Pre-PMA 2009: Canon has announced its slimmest compacts, the
PowerShot SD780 IS (Digital IXUS 100 IS in Europe) and
PowerShot SD1200 IS (Digital IXUS 95 IS in Europe), replacing the
SD770 IS and
SD1100 IS respectively. Both the 12.1 megapixel SD780 IS and 10 megapixel SD1200 IS offer similar features including
3x optical zoom, optical viewfinders, 2.5" LCDs,
Optical Image Stabilization, Smart Auto mode with Scene Detection and i-Contrast. Furthermore, the SD780 IS can also record High Definition movies.
