Photokina 2006: Tamron has announced the new 18-250 Di-II LD Aspherical (IF) Macro lens designed specifically for digital SLR's with APS-C sized sensors. This lightweight lens is an improvement on the existing 18 to 200 mm lens, adding further telephoto range. It provides a zoom range of 18 to 250 mm (13.8x), producing an equivalent field of view of approximately 27 to 375 mm on a digital SLR with a 1.5x FOV crop. This is said to be the highest power zoom lens designed specifically for digital SLRs.
