When it was announced in July this year the S7000 held a claim to be the only prosumer digital camera to have a sensor with more than five million pixels, it features Fujfilm's latest six million pixel SuperCCD HR sensor. Because of the pixel layout of SuperCCD the S7000 by default outputs a twelve million pixel image, although you can select smaller image sizes, including six million pixels.
