Pre-PMA 2003: Lexar Media has today announced new 40x professional Compact Flash cards. Lexar claim a throughput of 6 MB per second (although they don't specify which camera this was tested on) where 1x is 150 KB/sec. The new 40X cards will be available in 256MB and 512MB capacities and will feature the company's Write Acceleration technology (WA), which further increases write speed in WA-enabled digital cameras. Lexar will also increase the speed of its 1GB Type I CompactFlash card to 32X.
