Nikon Coolpix 2100 and 3100

Pre-PMA 2003, 15:00 TOKYO: Nikon has today announced the Coolpix 2100 and 3100. Both cameras are based on the same body (with some subtle styling differences), the Coolpix 2100 has a two megapixel 1/3.2" sensor, the 3100 a three megapixel 1/2.7" sensor. These cameras can be seen as the successors to the Coolpix 775 and 885, although these cameras offer significant developments including RGB color filter array, a new menu system and a smaller more stylish case. Storage is on Compact Flash card and the cameras are powered by two AA batteries (NiMH rechargeables supplied).
