Phase One releases Capture One Pro 7.0.2 with Fujifilm X-Trans support

By dpreview staff on Jan 14, 2013 at 14:20 GMT

Phase One has announced that it has updated its Capture One Pro raw conversion software to version 7.0.2. This includes support for several additional cameras, including the Fujifilm X-Pro1, X-E1 and XF1, Canon EOS 6D and EOS M, Sony SLT-A57 and NEX-5R, and Olympus XZ-2 iHS. The update is available immediately from the company's website, as a free download for users of Capture One 7.

Support for Fujifilm's X-Trans CMOS sensors will be especially welcome to owners of the X-Pro1 and X-E1, as third-party raw support for these cameras has to date been rather sparse. We've had look at how the results compare to the cameras' JPEGs and Adobe Camera Raw - click the link below to see what we found.

As an XE1 user, this is a great news, but my workflow is now messy, C1 > LR.

I'm not still sure if I would completely move to C1 for now. I have 60 more days to decide...

does it still create hidden cache files all over your hardisk?

somebody should tell them about databases if that is still the case....

the web site touts an increase in resolution and better implementation of the HDR tool as well as better control of noise.

those three aside, i have noticed much more pleasing skies. the highlights around the clipping point are handled much better even before any 'recovery' has been performed. i think i can see a difference in sharpness/resolution, but there is an immediately noticeable difference in the colors and highlights. i like it.

Ogl, i don't recall where version six left off. do you wonder when there will be a revision to version six? or, 6.5 was the final version, but it is no longer available for download?

i held on to 32-bit XP for quite a while. really, i didn't care about upgrading until other software i like no longer supported XP... that, and the move to 64-bit for more RAM.

Where is 32/64 bit Capture One 6.5 for Win XP SP3?

Windows XP is very old! No 64 bit offered. Windows XP Pro x64 sucks cos not many hardware and software can offered to that. Go for Windows 7 or Windows 8 with 64 bit thats a lot better off with!
