Soak in the season with these vivid summer photos

I wonder if all you "critics" thought you were getting natural saturation and color when you shot Velvia or even Kodachrome II back in the day? Or maybe you choose those stocks on a given shoot just for that reason. And what you "photographer" must think of someone like Man Ray for manipulating his film images in such an unnatural display of vision. Didn't he know his stuff was weird?
I frankly don't think Mr. Goulart superimosed the jumpers, but if he did, so what?
He was telling his story, not yours.
I think Mr. Groucher ought to reduce the size of his fonts by 75%.

You can tell the quality (or lack of quality) of some peoples work by the amount they put down other peoples work.

Photography is art, and includes freedom of expression. There are no "rules". A good image is the one you like.
Who cares how these were made. Some people like them, and some don't, just like music or wine.

Radiation sickness

Why is it that you don see people complaining that b&w infrared shots look manipulated or unreal?

For that matter, why don't they complain that the world is not black and white?

Are these good photos? Yes.

I find these photos terrific. Having had a wonderful summer so far and being from a country that still has a lot of summer left and many more warm sunsets to enjoy by the beach in swimsuit, I completely identify myself with the situations captured by the photographer. Great mate!

This is more of: "My photo is crap... so I will crank up saturation and vibrancy sliders to the max"...

If a photo doesn't look good in the first place, it's not going to look better in some sparkly shrink wrap.

Wow, this really has turned into a "see who has the most criticism" board. The images are remarkable for exactly the reason you all are complaining. It's easy to cry "Photoshopped" without really analyzing how the photographer made the shot. It takes a second glance, but the girl is obviously jumping out of a moving surf, which is why there are no waves caused by her feet. Before criticizing, try appreciating what it takes in today's world to make a photo stand out from the crowd.

Photography is a tool for converting emotion into something tangible.
Presenting the world 'AS IS' is not the only right way to CREATE images.

I can't believe DPR actually fell for this cheap photoshop job. It's impossible for those people and their reflections to not be composited into the image after the fact. People don't just float in mid-air and if they had jumped from a helicopter or something, not only would you see the reflection of that in the water as well but you could never get enough exposure for those shots at such a fast shutter speed required to capture someone falling at a high speed.

put your hands where I can see them and slowly step away from the saturation slider....

Is this what photography's come to? Making it 'prettier' than it actually is? No wait, I get it, its 'art' and that's how the photographer 'felt' at the time.
