We've been fans of Aaron Johnson's comic strip 'What the Duck' for years. 'WTD' is one of the best satirical comic strips in the world, and it's published here every week, and also runs in our weekly newsletter.

WTD #1390

What the Duck is a comic strip by Aaron Johnson. It started as a webcomic, with the first strip posted in July 2006. The strip has appeared as print in numerous photography magazines including Amateur Photographer in the UK. It was picked up for syndication in 2008 by Universal Press Syndicate under the name W. T. Duck.

Sometimes droll, sometimes whimsical, sometimes subtle, sometimes LOL.

Finally a comic strip for me!

I noticed that the humor in Garfield had become less cutting edge over the years and was desperately looking for something I could print out and tape to my office door to remind my coworkers of my sharp wit.

All I can say is it helps to understand the joke before you make a comment :).

I almost found the comments from those who don't understand the joke as funny as the comic.

:)

Yes, because this joke is too hard to understand, its humor being so deep, so overwhelming, so unreachable.

I would welcome a detailed explanation, with explicit pointers on when, how, and why to laugh. Please help us get the picture, do share the knowledge!

It's easy to understand, as long as you've heard about Google Glass and how it works. Fortunately for Mankind there are geniuses like you that know everything from the cradle...

If that's representative, then one has to have a refreshingly simple sense of humour to enjoy it. And have extraordinarily sensitive satire detection circuits.

Now that I understand this is about the blue guy (wearing Google Glasses) taking photos of the white guy, this is very funny indeed!

WTD as a whole is very funny. I can see it not reaching everybody's standard for free internet humor, but I for one love Mr. Duck and his antics.

PS: Wanna see useless photography related material (that's supposed to be funny)? Check out digitalrev on youtube.

Oh, so its problem is it's free. Now I get it. Does it have a paid version where the author unleashes all his great humoristic skill upon the subscribers?

OK, Glass, take a snapshot, permanently archive this lame comic series, then let it wither away as it should.

0.01? WTD for me is a really lame comic strip that never ever causes me to smile even 1 tiny bit. Just my opinion :-)

If you don't like it thats fine. Everyone has different tastes and preferences which makes the world a much miore interesting place to live in.

However from what I can tell a lot many people like the strip (including me) so if you don't like it you are free to ignore this page and look at something else. Dpreview is not forcing anyone to read the comic strip.

I am as free as anyone to post my opinion. You and others like WTD and that is fine. I thought I'd give it another look to see if it is slightly amusing to me. Nope. So I won't bother any more.

It isn't just a matter of having the right to have different tastes. The bigger problem is the huge dumbing down of DPReview this adds to.
