Pentax updates firmware for K-5 II/IIs DSLRs and Q mirrorless camera

Pentax has released firmware updates for its K-5 II, K-5 IIs DSLRs and Q mirrorless cameras. Firmware version 1.04 for the K-5 II and IIs improves overall stability and resolves an issue where some of the controls stopped working on the cameras' status screens. The update Pentax Q firmware v1.12 resolves issues regarding one of its Smart Effect filters. The updates are available for immediate download from the company's website.

Hello Pentax's Creators. Excellent product that is your Pentax K5II. I am your customer and believe that there is a market for a zoom APS-C,
a 23-69mm with constant f/2.8 aperture (fulframe equivalent to a 35-105mm).
It is not too much, just a 3x zoom. Would be perfect for family photos, often made in the interior.
Your weak point is in the range of lenses, you need to think well and produce what the others did not. Going down your own path, the other brands that will behind you, never the other way around.
It is too expensive to produce with aperture f/2.8? Ok, f/3.2 or f/3.5 at most.

There is such a lens for pentax. The Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 IF EX DG HSM

The Q firmware 1.12 has the fast AF of the 1.11, maybe even faster!!! They've also found the bugs this time: my Q seems stable and responsive again. Thanks Pentax!

Eh? Look around. There's several Q owners now. What he said is true.

More importantly, the Q firmware version 1.12 gives much faster AF than versions 1.10 and lower. This was experienced and widelly welcomed by users (see forums).

This significant speed enhancement was part of firmware 1.11 but, because this also introduced the bug with Smart Effect, Pentax had quickly introduced version 1.12
