Samsung UK has announced it will include a copy of Adobe Lightroom 4 photo-editing software for free with its NX300 APS-C mirrorless camera shipments. Announced at the CES 2013 tradeshow, the 3D-capable camera is built around a 20MP sensor, 3.3" OLED screen and built-in Wi-fi. We do not know whether this is a UK-only bundle, but we will update the story if more information becomes available.

Press Release:

NEW SAMSUNG NX300 CAMERA TO INCLUDE ADOBE® LIGHTROOM 4 SOFTWARE

London, UK –  12th March2013 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd today announced that the brand new NX300 is to feature Adobe® Lightroom 4 software. Combining the impressive feature set of the NX range with an array of post production tools included in Adobe® Lightroom, Samsung aims to offer the best in photography.

Adobe® Lightroom 4 software provides a range of digital photography tools, enabling simple adjustments to advanced controls. Key features for the experienced photo-shoppers include shadow and highlight recovery, superior noise reduction and selective editing brushes, while those just starting out will benefit from extended video support and a nondestructive environment which encourages experimentation but never alters original images.

With a usual RRP of £106.48, the Adobe software will come completely free when purchasing the NX300 camera, which already boasts Speed, Performance and Connectivity with a 20.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, wide ISO range (ISO100-25600), and a Hybrid Auto Focus (AF) system. The 45mm F1.8 2D/3D lens is the world’s first one-lens 3D system, capable of capturing both stills and 1080p full HD video in perfect 3D quality.

Shipping in March, the NX300 with Adobe® Lightroom 4 will take Samsung customers’ photography experience to a whole new level, helping to deliver amazing shots with ease.

Excellent!
I like bundles like this...
a free Photoshop Elements 10 was a contributing factor in my purchase of an Epson 1430 (13"x 19") color printer recently.

I think that they announced at CES that NX300 will come bundled with Lightroom.

Nice to see a camera come with a real RAW editor instead of the garbage (in usability) that comes with most cameras :)

I couldn't believe the garbage that came with my Panasonic. Poor in terms of UI and results.

I do really like Canon DPP, though. I feel like it's easier to use and has better output than Adobe.

I hope this soft is not limited to the NX300, i have 3 camera (EX1, NX100 and K-01) all provided with their own Silkypix, so i ended by install this almost same soft 3 time :(

tkbslc--

That Panasonic likely came with a variation of Silkypix, mine did, that's also what Samsung used to use.

Canon's all well and good, but does it extract say Sony A99 raws?

looks like all the camera makers work for Adobe. they got a better business -- just collecting money.

Don't know if it's global, but the NX300 comes with Lightroom in Sweden too, so I guess other EU countries get the same deal.
