As always - undocumented improvements. When to they hell they will learn that that's the best way to discourage people? If you spent something doing stuff to improve the camera - why won't you show off, Sony?

That's really, seriously dumb move.

I use Sony SLT A65 and have been experiencing inconsistent exposure when I use ttl flash with the camera, but with the latest firmware update the issue is corrected and also the picture quality is now better than before. Lest I forget focusing too is perfect. I now love my A65 more than before. Update your firmware and you will notice difference in performance.

you guys mean A99 now almost starts as fast as Canon or Nikon and can use old lenses? Not bad Sony, not bad at all.

A99 is a defective concept. No firmware update will ever change that. It is useless as a doorstop and salesnumbers show it. I nowadays plainly refuse footage taken with Sonys. PP correction is timeconsuming, thus costly and very often not successful. Frankly, I could hire an impressionist painter and get much better results...

Pill's hard to swallow, Wasaba. Got specifics? Sales numbers relevant to post production, not seeing it. User submission of substandard work, how are you sure it's the a99's fault? Sounds more like, you don't go there 'cause it's different. And that's fine but without detail, not much to learn here.

I updated my A99 and it starts up faster than before. After powering up the camera the screen shows for a longer time the "live view mode" before showing the chosen screen BUT it's possible to take picture right away, with the "live view" on. I don't know if it's me or not but the switch between the screen and the EVF is faster: maybe they change the sensitivity of the sensors right under the EVF??? Also: I have some old lenses from 1995 (Sigma 28/70 f2.8-4 UC, Sigma 70/300 f4-5.6 APO Macro and Sigma 18/35 f3.5-4.5) and 2005 (Minolta 17/35 2.8-4 D, kit lens from the glorious Minolta 7D) and they do focus a lot quicker that before; the "AF range" now works with those lenses (I don't think it was working before): no indication of distance on the scale and missing those yellow crosses from the sensor but nevertheless the system works since the camera can't focus outside the chosen range. Still looking for other stuff...

As expected, no fixes or enhancements. The real firmware update will come with A38, A58, A78 and so on...

Most people are reporting faster startup times and there are (to be verified) reports of other improvements/changes too.
