Sigma UK is running a photographic competition, with the prize of a DP1 Merrill and a two day photo workshop in Cornwall with landscape photographer Lea Tippett.  To enter, simply email in your favourite landscape photograph, along with a short paragraph (up to 80 words) saying how you would benefit from a weekend’s landscape photography tuition. The competition is open to UK residents only, and the closing date is 23rd September 2012.

The workshop will take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October 2012, and accommodation and meals on the nights of Friday 19th and Saturday 20th October will be included. The lucky winner will be given their DP1 Merrill at the start of the workshop and one of Sigma’s staff members will be on hand to answer any technical questions regarding the camera.

The lucky winner will also be handed a waterproof macintosh, some wellies, and a stack of books to read. Whilst he sits inside, safe from the pouring rain, making awkward conversation with landscape photographer Lea Tippett.

I think big photography websites like this should boycott these kind of commercial competitions :(

Thankyou Sigma, for actually realising that there's more than one country in the world!

They're doing an Olympus - I remember when the EP1 came out Olympus had a competition which was only for the US residents.

Sadly, some of these camera companies do not understand that the internet is cross-border...

Though in this case, a better chance for me to win, woohoo :p

Well done, Lea. Wish I was a UK resident.
