Novoflex creates adapters for Fujifilm X-Pro1

Novoflex has announced a range of mount adapters for the Fujifilm X-Pro1's X mount. The adapters allow the use of a wide range of non-XF lenses with the 16MP mirrorless camera. The range supports a broad cross-section of current and legacy lenses, including Canon FD, Nikon, Contax, Olympus OM and Minolta MD and AF mounts. There is also an adapter to allow use of Leica M-mount lenses, if you can't wait for the one Fujifilm said it is developing. The adapters will be available from the end of May 2012 at prices range from around €89 to €169, depending on the complexity of the adapter (there are also adapters for medium-format lenses that can cost as much as €350). How will the hybrid viewfinder cope with all these lenses?

If I remember correctly you can dial in the focal length for lenses which do not automatically relay this info to the body. OVF will then presumably adjust the framing accordingly. With EVF it does not matter, of course. I have no idea if the parallax correction would work at all, then it is just the EVF all the way.

If it's a zoom only the EV half will work, single focal length lens can be set.

I ordered the M39 adapter right away, for the terrific 15mm Voigtlander Super Wide Heliar I still have around. Zone focusing works fine with that, and landscapes should not be a problem without AF. Also a 75mm f:2.5 still somewhere...

I was getting odd results with the CV 15 mm on the X-Pro 1 until I set ISO to a fixed number between 200 and 3200, set DRO to 100% (i.e. off) and switched to center weighted metering. It's fine in that mode and the zoomed focus assist is excellent

Do any of those adapters include A on their aperture ring?

The Nikon adapter is $169,- I found one for $75.- on e-bay! I would only use it for lenses with aperture control ring so I don't need the expensive one...

Help me out. I have some DX lens with no aperture ring. Would this adapter support these DX lenses?

You can see on video presentation on Novoflex web that they ad rotating ring which should deal with aperture on that lenses.
Sorry for late reply but hope that helps anyway.

X-Pro1 with M adapter? I thought the new M10 would read "Leica" and "Made in Germany"! :-)

I was not pleased to read this on their site:

"Special note for Nikon lens adapters:
With few Nikkor lenses of the G-series the weather sealing of the lens has to be removed."

Ain't gonna happen!

Indeed, specially when one considers it was just a matter of cheapness on their part with the mount. But then again don't think Nikkor glass is going to be that big on the X-pro1, older lenses without the sealing, if that.

actually you will have to remove the rubber gasket as it comes in the way of setting apertures when using the adapter. Also Novoflex adapters aint some 3rd party rip-off accessory they are genuine quality products.

You hit the nail on the head...the 4/3's lenses are designed for a smaller sensor. Besides that...I'm pretty sure that most X-Pro1 owners (like myself) aren't interested in micro 4/3 anyway....which is why we bought an X-Pro1.

They make adapters for the Pentax Q and Nikon 1 bodies to use other lenses. They obviously are not going to make adapters to put thier lenses on other bodies.

I read a rumour somewhere that the official Fuji M mount adaptor includes electronic contacts and that there may be some kind of focus assist or synthetic rangefinder in the EVF. How cool would that be !!?

If they do some kind electronic rangefinder patch, Leica will be in serious trouble, at least with their bodies. They already can't make enough lenses to keep up with demand.

From what I've read the native Fujinon lenses and tehe XP1 could do with some kind of focus assist as well.

do these effect sharpness. i mean i am assuming they cant achieve the exact intended space between the film plane and the lens. does this effect image quality

And just why are you assuming that? If they are precisely manufactured, why shouldn't they be able to achieve the proper distance from lens to sensor?

If you want to nitpick they can not give exactly the same tolerance as a native lens, as there are two flanges instead of just one. In real life it can not be noticed. Often the lens focus mechanism itself has more play than the lens coupling(s).

Where is the EOS? Obviously there will not be autofocus or aperture control but it seems there shouldn't be an issue with adapting otherwise? I have an EOS adapter for my Sony NEX that has a built in aperture ring that works great.

EOS lenses have electronicly controlled aperture, so any adapter must have electronics and reverse-engineer Canon's annoying proprietary standard.

Yes I understand this but they have Sony adapters you just use the lens wide open and adjust the aperture ring built into the adapter. It works really well on my NEX 5n.

It'll mount minolta/sony AF mount, but you won't be able to use AF. Manual focus only.
