By dpreview staff on Dec 8, 2011 at 14:00 GMT

Just Posted: Leica V-Lux 3 samples gallery. We've published a selection of images from the V-Lux 3 superzoom that was announced today. We've put together a selection of 38 images, shot in a variety of situations and using a range of camera settings to give an idea of what the camera's 24x lens and 12MP CMOS sensor can do.

Samples Gallery

There are 38 images in the samples gallery. Please do not reproduce any of these images on a website or any newsletter / magazine without prior permission (see our copyright page). We make the originals available for private users to download to their own machines for personal examination or printing (in conjunction with this review), we do so in good faith, please don't abuse it.

Unless otherwise noted images taken with no particular settings at full resolution. Because our review images are now hosted on the 'galleries' section of, you can enjoy all of the new galleries functionality when browsing these samples.

I have to say I don't see same colors than pana FZ150... I like these pics much more.

Download similar images (at same conditions shooting) in original size - one from this Leica gallery and one from FZ150 gallery. Open them at once a you can see pretty difference in image quality. Leica images are much better.

But you already did the Panasonic! :D
Will we ever see SX40 studio comparison shots?

I'd like to see side-by-side samples with the FZ150. OTOH, that might be redundant.

i suspect it would be totally redundant. The main difference is usually nothing more than a slightly different default saturation setting.

Excellent photography. This new version looks to be a big step forward in the sensor department, given its range the lens remains stellar.

Hard to see how good the lens is whith such a subpar sensor...
