Olympus issues firmware v1.1 for PEN E-P3, fixing minor bugs

Olympus has updated the firmware for its range-topping PEN E-P3 mirrorless camera. Firmware v1.1 corrects a bug that stopped the buttons working if the touch screen was contacted when an optional electronic viewfinder is used. It also corrects the fault by which the AF points were not shown when the camera is used with an Eye-Fi card. Users must download the Olympus Digital Camera Updater software to apply the update.

E-P3 Firmware Update version 1.1

This firmware update resolves the following issues:

• Button controls do not work when the touch screen monitor is touched while using an optional electronic viewfinder.
  
• The AF targets are not displayed while using an optional Eye-Fi memory card.

1.03 is the version of the updater, not the version of the Firmware!! That is all correct.

What I want fixed is the ability to use touch screen focus point and still see the histogram. Big flaw in my opinion having to keep pressing 'ok'

What do you mean no mac driver? D/L the Olympus camera updater for the mac. Works fine. If of course you mean you can't update it from a mac.

My guess is the updater is not updated with the 1.1 just like the Oly web site don't have the driver. Might take some time for Oly to get it up

Turns out you can do it through the Olympus Viewer 2 software. Just plug in your camera, make sure your battery is charged and choose the update camera option. Nice to not have the touch screen affected by my nose with the viewfinder now.

Me too just connected the cam to mac book pro and used the olympus vw 2 software update software 5 mins later im done thanks for the tip.
now my controls work correctly with the viewfinder
that was really a nuisance thanks again N
