I agree with BG_CX3_DPREVIEW's comment! I think it would be more productive if you showed us how is the interactivity, the responsiveness of the camera, the time it takes to focus an action scene, the sound of it! Things that you can't get while reading a review/preview. But its a good idea! Looking forward to see what's to come.

was this an samsung advertisement or a preview advertisement? i like getting video reviews, the only useful thing here was the angle of the flash and way to scroll adjust settings;)

nice addition, but the concept now show is not what you expect to see in a video, all tech things you can read in the datasheet, but how the screens work, how fast t gets from shooting to preview, have fast it saves raw etc, scroll thru the menu,s that what i woulike to see, you know, when you go into a photoshop, and pick up a camera, what do you do when you hold it in your hand? Read the specsheet, hell no, dial thru the menus.

Great job with the video review. Very well done. Just curious but what camera did you use to film it? Also could you fill the frame a little more with the subject. It would make it easy to see the dials and controls with tighter framing. Keep up the great work.

Seriously, take a look at Top Gear, then take a look at DigitalRev on Youtube. Then make it bit more serious than both of those and thats what you should do.

Review and hands on can be fun to watch and in same time it can give necessary information.

I'm one of your readers who don't have English as first language. At least for me, video voice overlays are much harder to follow then written text.

I agree that videos are great for getting a picture of size, handling etc. But the best solution would simply be silent videos concentration on those features that benefits most from video, with just text overlays.

In my opinion this would actually give a more professional impression. I have a feeling one need to devout much work and resources to avoid getting that familiar "amateur-review-on-youtube" feeling creeping into reviews. :)

Well, photos at ISO 3200 look exactly like TL500 photos at 800 (blotchy), and worse than similar from DSLRs. Samsung has to improve their noise reduction software, that's for sure.

Just me, but I never watch video reviews .

The voice is not good. It drops at the end of each sentence, giving a stilted feel. Some voice training required, or hire a professional.

Great idea of using a short video to show some of the basics!

I find the video preview a good idea - it conveys a better idea of what the camera is like to hold and use.

Only Samsung would put their logo on a place no-one will ever see when you use the camera. Makes me think they are not too confident about this one.

I think they answered quite a few question simply showing us how it works, a good job. Saves one having to go to YouTube as well.

I think it would work better with less 'hands'. Currently it's just one take. For example at 0:24 and 0:48 you turn the camera around, or at 1:12 point at the mics. A simple cut to the new position or zoomed shot would work better. (Keep some hands though, as they're great for scale and menus.)

A turntable spin of the camera at the start would be good too.

I'm not a fan of your slightly 'trying too hard' intro with the jaunty angles and generic beat music. It looks dated already. But's that probably a more personal thing.

Man I sound negative! I really like the video in general - it just feels more amateur than the rest of the site.

All reviews I've seen omit one thing which is very important for me: available focusing magnification. NX100 had only 1x and 2x so precise focusing was a bit hard.

Ah.. that explains why you had a mic (in the pic you posted on facebook w/ the Olympus 35rc).

Videos seem to do a better job conveying size and handling than stills of a camera next to some other camera (that I likely hadn't handled before).

Kind of nice as a video preview. Lets a person have enough info to see if they want to read the full review (which would be much preferred by myself as an in depth analysis) But serves a good purpose to see what the handling, size, etc. is, as has been stated in some other comments, and to give just a general overview.

Personally, I'd always rather be able to read a review and I'm glad you state that this is not a replacement. It's much more immediate and self-paced to read than watch videos. I take your point about the usefulness of moving pictures when it comes to a menu control but the shots of the camera and the array of lenses at the end could easily be dealt with in text and still. But I suspect that the true purpose of these video reviews will be to appeal to those who just dont want to read long reviews.

Unlike poster 'itsastickup', above, I'd rather not have a 'bigged-up' presentation. Keep it human and low-key like you have – no need to start doing it in an overkill 'professional entertainment' style .

Great to have video review - really helps with appreciation of how it handles. It would be better if the camera was turned on and pointed at a scene and then a photo taken - to see and hear the actual operation of the machine. A long boring exploration of features would not be great, but an expose of the most innovative features and the most annoying would go a long way towards making a decision for the potential buyer/user.

I just want to ask Samsung to make possible to buy NX200 with pancake lens in France.

Good and promising video preview from dpreview. Hope to see in-depth review as soon as possible. I really like NX200 design and features, and I don't care about EVF absence, because I has a superb AMOLED screen, and it's very compact to fit my big pocket :)

It seemed fairly "matter-of-fact" to me, with the exception of the bit about the sensor being re-designed to maximize light capture. That bit did sound a little like a marketing tag-line, but overall I think the video preview was quite neutral, and was a very good at its intent to preview the camera. DP's in-depth review will tell the rest of the story.

Well, I was wondering when you guys would start doing video reviews and I am happy to see that it is NOW! Great first effort and I look forward to many more as you review products. Hopefully, the videos will be as comprehensive as the regular full reviews. Love this site!!!

Seeing the way the UI works was informative.

I'd have liked to see the camera in hand with kit and pancake lenses attached to get an idea of scale
Also agree with the idea posted to show if it can fit a baggy pocket or a similar alternative for carrying.

If you add video to reviews I suggest showing how well the screen works in bright light because that will be clearer than in written content.

In general the way to decide content should be whether it can be better expressed in video than the written review. In this preview I think the UI demonstration did this but the rest was probably superfluous.

I hope you continue with these in the future as they've got obvious potential to help.

The video is fine, the voice is good.

Just one technical point, the audio is about 10 to 15 dB quieter for the voice than it is for the introductory and ending sounds. That makes the voice very hard to hear as it's so quiet, relatively speaking.

Very good, and the voice is perfect. You don't want the voice to be a distraction from the excellent video.

Only change I would suggest is to keep the hands away from the front of the camera at the start.

Nice and calm, informative for such a short length. These kind of movies suit me just fine.

Guys, you need to develop a decent presenter voice: lots of emphasis and verbal gesticulations. It takes practice and a lack of self-conciousness. The content was pretty dull too; not as engaging as the written previews.

Personally I'm a reader and usually avoid vids. But if I do watch a vid I'd prefer not to be put in to a coma.

Great new feature. Short and to the point, great stuff.
I don't think it is feasable to have a full review in video, but maybe each main aspect in a review containing a short video illustrating the main points could be great.

The illustration of operations, like showing the menu and the aperture control is really a plus in a video like this. As tranced mentioned maybe even amplified sounds from the camera, such a s the clicks etc, to really convey the experience (like when using a rotating selector).

Smart meny - clip on flash.. hmm, where did the get that idea from.. OLYMPYS maybe!? :)
