New site features

We've added a couple of quick new feaures to dpreview.com. First - as you'd struggle to miss if you're looking at this page - is news tagging and filtering. We've started to broaden our news coverage and at times like this the front page can pretty quickly get swamped with stories. We've added a simple tagging system (which will grow as time goes by), just click on the 'Filter news' menu at the top of this section. At the moment the tagging only goes back as far as July, but we will, once Photokina is over, gradually go back to the start of the year. Expect to see this feature develop into something even more useful in the future. The other new thing is Polls - you should be able to see one running on the right hand side. These are just a bit of fun and if you participate you'll see a link where you can suggest your own poll topics. In other news we've also picked the iPad winner from our recent site survey.
The lucky winner plucked out of the big electronic hat at PMAI's Jackson, MI headquarters was Paolo Bosetti from Trento, Italy. Upon hearing of his win Paolo said 'When I was notified about the win I simply couldn't believe it! Now I have one more reason for regularly reading DPReview... it will look even more classy on a new (free!) iPad'.
Congratulations to Paolo, and thanks to everyone who took part in the survey. The results are being pored over now and will help us build dpreview into an even more indispensable part of your digital photography day!
