As well as adding motors to its existing lenses, Tamron has also started building motors into its new Nikon-compatible lenses. The 28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 VC lens offers a 10.7x zoom range with the company's proprietary optical stabilization system. DX-format users get fields of view equivalent to 43-465mm (in FX terms).

The 28-300mm VC is the first stabilized lens from Tamron incorporating Tamron's proprietary technology called VC -Vibration Compensation. When mounted on a DSLR with an APS-C sized imager, the lens covers a 43mm wide angle to 465mm equivalent ultra telephoto. The tele-mega-zoom offers flexibility in hand-held photography enabling a correction effect of up to 4 stops. The 28-300mm at the top of the mega zoom class has a MFD of 0,49m enabling a Maximum Magnification Ratio of 1:3 and thus respectable macro capability at a focal length of 300 mm.
The initial deliveries of the eagerly awaited Nikon version are scheduled to begin. The lens features a 'built-in' motor right from the start, in order to accommodate users of new Nikon cameras which require a 'built-in' motor such as the Nikon D40.
The lens is already available with Canon mount. No other mounts are planned.| Lens name | AF 28-300mm F/3,5-6,3 XR Di VC LD Aspherical [IF] MACRO |
