PMA 2008: Tamron has three lenses in the pipeline suitable for Nikon camera bodies lacking in-body focus motors - namely the D40, D40x and D60. The 18-220 f/3.5-6.3 and 17-50 f/2.8 are for crop sensors only but the 70-300 f/4-5.6 will cover 24x36mm sensors. Click through for specs and compatibility information.
PMA, January 31, 2008, Las Vegas, NV— Mr. Morio Ono, president and CEO of Tamron Co., Ltd., announced that the company has developed two zoom lenses for APS-C size format —AF18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II (model A14) and SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II (model A16) — and one zoom for full-size format — 70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di (model A17) — with a Built-In Motor for Nikon.

A17NII does not function in the AF mode with some Nikon cameras since the lens uses a built-in motor AF system. Only the MF mode is functional.
