Fujifilm Back with 20.8 Megapixel Super CCD

Pre-PMA 2003: Our friends over at DC Resource have noticed a small paragraph in one of the press releases from Fujifilm. This refers to the development of a new medium format camera digital back utilizing a newly developed 20.8 megapixel Super CCD sensor with the dimensions of 52 x 37 mm (2.05 x 1.46 in), this translates into an output file of 7,648 x 5,408 (41 million pixel) images. This is news to us, and we will be doing all we can to find out more about this interesting new product.

New Digital Camera Back with 20.8 Million Total Pixels Super CCD
Fujifilm will announce the development of a new state-of-the-art medium format digital camera back for professional use. The back is equipped with Fujifilm's newly developed 20.8 million total pixels Super CCD with a 52 x 37 mm size chip capable of producing a record breaking 7,648 x 5,408 (41 million) recorded pixels for exceptional quality. The CCD will produce ultra high-resolution images with superb color fidelity for professional photographers.
