Fujifilm FinePix F402

Pre-Photokina 2002: Fujifilm has today announced the FinePix F402. This ultra compact, ultra slim digital camera has a fixed 39 mm equiv. lens and a 2.4 megapixel SuperCCD. The F402 is notably slimmer than the F401 but does lose the zoom lens. The F401 also now uses the new xD Picture Card for storage and comes with a PictureCradle for easy connectivity and charging.

3rd Generation Super CCD for stunning image quality

Key to the remarkable image quality of the FinePix F402 is Fujifilm's 3rd Generation Super CCD. With this sensor, the LSI processes the brightness and colour information from captured images separately, to produce extremely low-noise results. The significant increase in top sensitivity (ISO 800* and 1600 equivalent*) is made possible by Pixel Data Coupling, a technology that makes use of the fast processing abilities of the LSI. The ultra-low noise and superb colour characteristics mean more authentic colour images are delivered - even for skin tones and in low light level.

Powerful multimedia capabilities

The fast and accurate processing of images, made possible by the 3rd Generation Super CCD, delivers an impressive movie mode, offering 320 x 240 pixel (QVGA) resolution at ten frames per second with sound. In addition, the camera can be used as a webcam for Internet conferencing.

The FinePix F402's styling builds on the successful formula developed with the FinePix F401 Zoom. The compact design makes the camera ideal to carry with you everywhere. Everything included in the box

The FinePix F402 ships with a host of accessories including a PictureCradle™, NP-40 Lithium-ion battery, AC power adaptor, 16MB xD-Picture Card, strap and soft case. The supplied software CD includes USB drivers, Fujifilm's FinePix viewer for image browsing, DP Editor and VideoImpression for movie editing.

Optional accessories include additional xD-Picture Cards (16 to 128MB, with larger capacities available soon) and USB xD-Picture Card readers.

The FinePix F402 will be available from Dixons, Currys, PC World and Dixons Tax Free (airport) stores from November 2002 at a Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of £299.99 including VAT.
