An ultra-telephoto zoom lens, which overcomes image blur caused by camera shake
Sigma APO 80-400mm F4.5-5.6 EX OS is one of several new products to be introduced at Photokina 2002 by Sigma Corporation of Japan (2-3-15, Iwado-Minami, Komae-shi, Tokyo, Japan).
Sigma's OS (OPTICAL STABILIZER) system detects camera shake by utilizing two sensors, and then the movement of an optical stabilizing lens group successfully compensates image blur. It is equipped with two optical stabilizer modes to compensate image blurring.
Mode 1, determines the camera shake in vertical and horizontal panning
and compensates blurring, this mode is effective when shooting static
images.
Mode 2, detects the vertical camera shake, and overcomes blurring. It
is especially effective on moving subjects such as motor sports etc.
Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements in the front lens group
and one in the rear group offer effective control of color aberration.
The lens features full-time manual focusing and a removable tripod collar.
The rear focus system prevents the front of the lens rotating; a circular
polarizing filter can be easily attached and used. This lens is also equipped
with a Zoom Lock Switch that eliminates "Zoom Creep". When this
lens is used with the 1.4x EX or 2x EX Apo Tele Converters (optional),
it becomes a 112-560mmF6.3-7.8 MF telephoto lens or a 160-800mm F9-11
MF ultra-telephoto lens respectively. The lens materials used in this
new lens are lead and arsenic free ecological glass.

Press Release:
A telephoto zoom lens, which retains a constant fast aperture of F2.8
at all
focal lengths
Sigma APO 120-300mm F2.8 EX IF HSM is one of several new products to be introduced at Photokina 2002 by Sigma Corporation of Japan (2-3-15, Iwado-Minami, Komae-shi, Tokyo, Japan).
This telephoto zoom lens has a large aperture of F2.8 that is constant
throughout the zoom range. The angle of view of the 120-300mm F2.8 varies
from 20.4degree to 8.2degree and offers great versatility of composition
from a fixed position. Two Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass elements
in the front lens group and two in the rear group offer effective compensation
of color aberration. Since focusing and zooming do not change its overall
length, this lens offers ease of handling. HSM ensures a quiet, high-speed
AF, as well as full-time manual focus (for Sigma, Canon and Nikon mounts).
A removable tripod collar is provided with the lens. As the front of the
lens does not rotate, circular polarizing filters can easily be used.
When this lens is used with the 1.4x EX or 2x EX Apo Tele Converters (optional),
it becomes a 168-420mmF4 AF telephoto lens or a 240-600mm F5.6 AF ultra-telephoto
lens respectively. The lens materials used in this new lens are lead and
arsenic free ecological glass.

A 300mm telephoto to 800mm ultra-telephoto zoom lens featuring a constant
large
aperture through its entire range
The Sigma APO 300-800mm F5.6 EX IF HSM is one of several new products to be introduced at Photokina 2002 by Sigma Corporation of Japan (2-3-15, Iwado-Minami, Komae-shi, Tokyo, Japan). Sigma APO 300-800mm F5.6 EX IF HSM provides a constant F-number from 300mm telephoto to 800mm ultra-telephoto. This super-telephoto zoom lens has a horizontal angle of view of 6.9°at 300mm and 2.6°at 800mm. Its ability to zoom from a fixed position offers unparalleled versatility in composing an image. Since focusing and zooming do not change its overall length, this lens offers ease of handling and operation. The HSM ensures a quiet, high-speed AF function as well as full-time manual focusing capability for Sigma, Canon, Nikon mount lenses. A 46mm filter can be inserted near the rear of the lens, and a circular polarizing filter can be used.
