About PRINT Image Matching
PRINT Image Matching ensures that P.I.M.-enabled digital cameras and P.I.M.-supported printers work perfectly together to create the best possible prints. With PRINT Image Matching technology, digital camera manufacturers can set critical image-specific parameters for printing, such as gamma level, color space, contrast, sharpness, brightness, saturation, shadow, highlight and color balance, to ensure optimum results from each digital camera model. The photographer's original intentions are automatically reflected in the printed image. Anyone can now create photos that are more stunning with PRINT Image Matching quickly, easily and automatically.
Hardware and Software -- The Power Behind PRINT Image Matching
PRINT Image Matching technology requires the combination of a PRINT Image Matching-enabled digital camera, printer and software. Many PRINT Image Matching-enabled products are currently available, including digital cameras from more than half of the PRINT Image Matching supporters. In addition, customers can choose from five PRINT Image Matching-compatible printers: the EPSON Stylus Photo 780, 785EPX, 820, 890 and 1280, all of which include Epson Software(TM) Film Factory(TM) with PRINT Image Matching support.
With the recent release of a software developer's kit, Epson has provided the tools necessary for software companies to incorporate the technology into software applications. ArcSoft is the first company to use the software developer's kit to incorporate PRINT Image Matching support into their software product, PhotoPrinter 4.0.
PhotoPrinter is a one-stop solution to getting the most out of color photo printing. Customers can save time and money by using selected templates and placing various photos on a single sheet of paper. The same photo can be printed multiple times, or the sheet can be covered with different photos. Customers can create their own templates and layouts, and can add creative borders, titles and effects. They also have the option to print cards, calendars and fliers, along with a wide variety of other projects. The list price of PhotoPrinter 4.0 is $39.99 and will be available in Q4 2001.
JVC now joins an impressive group of industry-leading camera manufacturers supporting PRINT Image Matching, including Asahi Optical Co. Ltd. (Pentax Corp.), Casio Computer Co.
