Kodak tangles with Microsoft over XP

In
my recent article about the new photo technologies in Windows XP I wrote
that I was concerned that Microsoft would hold the reins to who gets to
appear on its list of photofinishing sites and what software automatically
'pops-up' when the digital camera is connected. ZDNet have an article
on Kodak's take on this and how they're not too happy with Microsoft,
"We were being frozen out," says Mr. Gerskovich, a 44-year-old
Kodak vice president. "Consumers were effectively being denied a
choice of which photo software they could use. More important, they should
be able to send photos to any Internet printing service they choose--without
paying a tax to Microsoft."
