Nikon Coolpix 950 wins Macworld 1999 Editors Choice

The Nikon Coolpix 950 has won the Macworld 1999 Editors Choice Award for the category of Digital Camera. Other products which won awards were the Palm IIIe, Apple Studio Display, Diamond Rio 500.

Macworld Magazine Announces 1999 Editors' Choice Award Winners

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 5, 2000--Macworld magazine, the leading Macintosh publication and Web site, has named the hardware and software product winners of its prestigious Fifteenth Annual Editors' Choice Awards for 1999. The Eddy Award winners were announced last night at a gala awards ceremony, held at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art on the eve of Macworld Expo, which opens today.

The Eddy Awards, the Macintosh industry's highest distinction for breakthrough product development, are given to honor the top software and hardware products in 26 categories. To be eligible, new products must have been released between November 1, 1998 and November 1, 1999.

``The Eddy Awards mark the pinnacle of success for any Macintosh product,'' said Macworld Magazine's Editor, Michael Penwarden. ``Each year, Macworld Magazine evaluates hundreds of Macintosh products. This ceremony is our opportunity to recognize the best of the best: the most innovative, useful and polished products released during the past year.''

In addition to the 26 categories outlined below, Eddys were also given for Hardware Product of the Year, Software Product of the Year, Technology of the Year, Impact Product of the Year and the Distinguished Achievment Award.
