Rising to the challenge I took a few macro shots with the 950 to see just how close you can get. Camera was on a tripod, objects were on a 10 degree tilted sheet of 80gsm photocopy paper, lighting was from a 60W incandescent lamp. Camera in macro and aperture priority mode, center-weighted-average, auto-focus, incandescent white balance, mostly taken in the macro "sweet spot" (green macro indicator on the LCD). Closest macro was achieved at 11/16" (17.4mm) across the frame (about 2,300 DPI).
