Kodak Japan announce new 2.3 megapixel DC280J. Here's a translation of the Japanese pages specifications.

  • 3x Digital Zoom

  • 1.8" LCD 15fps updated
  • Focus distance: 50cm (25cm in Macro)
  • Flash range: 0.5m - 3.0m (Guide no. 11)
  • Exposure modes: Center weighted average and Spot
  • Exposure lock
  • Macro mode only with LCD switched on
  • Shutter: 1/2s - 1/755s
  • Auto sensitivity on: ISO50 - ISO140 automatic
  • Auto sensitivty off: ISO70 standard, ISO50 in bright light

Obviously there will be a DC280 and the J designation denotes the Japanese market camera, no news yet on dates or prices for worldwide release although the Japanese camera is supposed to be launched on July 23rd at a price of 100,000 YEN (about US$820).
