Olympus CAMEDIA C-120
Press Release (Olympus UK):
Digital photo fun at your fingertips
The CAMEDIA C-120 from Olympus
The new 2-megapixel Olympus CAMEDIA C-120 offers great performance at
a fantastic price. Featuring precision automatic operation, numerous flash
modes and a high-quality optical system, the C-120 is a compact, user-friendly
digital camera that delivers excellent image quality. Available in May/June
it will retail for a very affordable £169.99 [inc VAT].
The stylish C-120 features a sensitive 2.1 megapixel CCD chip, an optical
real-image viewfinder and a high-quality 4.5mm lens. The camera's five
lenses arranged in five groups, equivalent to a 35mm lens in 35mm format,
guarantee impressive, high-resolution prints.
For those who still believe digital photography is complicated the user-friendly
C-120 presents a range of fully automatic operations. While ESP metering
takes readings from various points in the frame to determine the optimum
exposure settings. Exposure compensation is also available for shooting
in more tricky lighting conditions.
A digital zoom provides the versatility of 2.5x magnification (up to
5x in SQ2 mode). Measuring only 123 (w) x 65 (h) x 44.5 (d) mm and weighing
only 190g (without batteries), the C-120 conveniently fits into a handbag
or pocket.
The camera's settings may be easily selected and checked using the arrow-key
buttons in combination with the menu displayed on the integrated LCD.
The display can also be used as a viewfinder whilst composing your shot.
These images can then be viewed immediately after capture and retaken
if required.
The C-120 can also be used with all CAMEDIA printers to enjoy quality
photo printing at home. An ideal accompaniment to this compact digital
camera is the small, portable Olympus P-200 printer. Allowing optional
battery operation, it permits images from the C-120 to be printed anywhere.
Alternatively, the C-120 produces images with a resolution of up to 1.96
million pixels (effective), which may be printed in A4 format on the Olympus
P-400 printer.
The C-120 also offers a movie function, allowing 60-second sequences
to be recorded in QuickTime Motion JPEG format. The resulting footage
can be played on the camera's LCD or thanks to the file's high-compression
ratio be integrated into websites or sent via email.
Downloading picture data to a PC is easy and straightforward. With USB
AutoConnect* compatibility, the camera is automatically recognised as
an external drive once connected to a computer. The CAMEDIA Master 4.0
software supplied with the camera allows image files (stills and movies)
to be archived, edited and processed. The software also includes different
templates for producing individualised photo albums, calendars and postcards.
