Kodak Professional Taking Orders for DCS 760 Digital Camera; Ground-Breaking
SLR Carries a Suggested U.S. List Price of $7,995
ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 9 The Kodak Professional DCS 760 digital camera
- Kodak's latest and most advanced professional SLR digital camera - will
have a suggested U.S. list price of $7,995, Kodak Professional announced
today.
Authorized dealers of Kodak Professional digital cameras are now taking
orders for the DCS 760 camera - including several dealers at the 2001
Seybold conference and exhibit, which opens today in Boston. Customer
availability of the camera is scheduled for May.
The Kodak Professional DCS 760 digital camera combines Kodak's true 6-megapixel
ITO CCD image quality with the unequaled ruggedness and performance of
Nikon's flagship F5 pro SLR camera body. Kodak then builds in a versatile,
high-performance imaging architecture with an ISO range (80-400, with
the ability to push 2 stops), burst rate (1.5 frames/sec.) and burst depth
(up to24 frames) that, taken together, are unmatched for an SLR digital
camera offering 6-megapixel image resolution and larger image files.
It is the only professional digital camera with such a rich combination
of features, robustness, versatility, image resolution and on-the-job
performance - at a very affordable price. The DCS 760 camera is capable
of a wide variety of uses - including weddings and portraiture, editorial,
on-figure fashion, commercial, travel, catalog and architectural photography
- either in the studio or on location.
"The Kodak Professional DCS 760 digital camera continues our efforts
to provide professionals with the tools they need, both to be successful
photographers and to run successful businesses," said Penny Pankow,
Worldwide Marketing Director, Photographer Systems, Kodak Professional.
"It's a robust, high-quality, competitive product that brings genuine
6-megapixel resolution within reach of a much broader range of photographers."
The portable, easy-to-use DCS 760 digital camera features an innovative
LCD display with exceptional brightness and contrast, a broader viewing
angle, and access to unique functions via its new graphic user interface
(GUI). Proprietary Kodak Professional DCS Photo Desk and Camera Manager
software, Picture Protection functions to save and protect raw image data,
and vastly improved IEEE 1394 connectivity that speeds image transmission
join together to deliver impressive gains in post-shoot image management
and workflow.
The DCS 760 digital camera is designed to meet the professional photographer's
demands for image quality, ease of use, "mission critical" performance
and reliability. In addition to features already mentioned, Kodak Professional's
newest camera offers sought-after capabilities such as "video out"
for image review on remote monitors. It ships with a removable IR blocking
filter that is interchangeable with an optional anti-aliasing filter for
maximum flexibility.
