Full press release:
CANON LAUNCHES THE POWERSHOT PRO90 IS AS THE FLAGSHIP OF THE POWERSHOT
DIGITAL CAMERA RANGE
This visually stunning camera is fitted with an astounding 10x zoom lens
and incorporates Canons patented Image Stabilisation technology. The camera
delivers 2.6M pixel resolution images from a 3.34M pixel CCD, ensuring
crisp, clear images every time.
Lightning fast photo capture, a 'state of the art' image stabiliser to
reduce camera shake, a subtle ergonomic design and outstanding photographic
flexibility makes the Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS the only practical choice
for advanced digital photographers.
Canon is renowned for developing truly inspired technology that delivers
real user benefits and this model is no exception. The Canon PowerShot
Pro90 IS offers complete control over the image capture process at all
times.
Fully automatic operation is possible with Program AE mode, plus shutter
priority AE, aperture priority AE or fully manual exposure control means
the Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS will deliver sophisticated levels of creative
functionality, on a level with the Canon EOS range of SLR cameras. Versatile
centre weighted and spot metering means that the Canon PowerShot Pro90
IS performs with unfailing accuracy.
Outstanding features include a movie with sound and record playback facility,
five mode pop-up flash and auto-exposure bracketing to make sure the final
photograph is exactly what the photographer needs.
Stunning good looks and inspired technical performance are not the whole
story. The demanding photographer will appreciate the Canon PowerShot
Pro90 IS's vari-angle LCD monitor that can be swivelled to suit light
conditions and the high power Lithium-Ion power pack that delivers more
pictures-per-battery than ever before.
The PowerShot Pro90 IS offers compatibility with both PowerShot and EOS
accessories including the Canon EX series of Speedlite flash units and
dedicated wide angle and close up lenses.
Downloading images from the Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS could not be simpler
or more reliable thanks to fast USB technology. Built in to the PowerShot
Pro90 IS camera body is a CompactFlash Type II slot that will accommodate
dedicated storage cards of up to 1GB in capacity, enabling hundreds of
images to be taken and stored.
Photo storage, manipulation and printing are made easy with the advanced
integrated software supplied with the Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS. Applications
include Adobe Photoshop LE, Canon's Photostitch, ZoomBrowser EX / ImageBrowser,
PhotoRecord and RemoteCapture.
The Canon PowerShot Pro90 IS delivers outstanding photographic image
quality, and is ideally matched to a Canon photo-quality Bubble Jet printer.
