"Manufacturers (ALL) shipped an astonishing 5.1 million digital cameras throughout the U.S. last year, up from 3.1 million in 1999. "

* Phil - I added "ALL" to the quote as some people were pointing out that the wording "Manufacturers" was misleading and made it look as though Nikon shipped 5.1 digital cameras. I didn't read it that way myself.
