It's noted by PC Watch that Olympus's reason for going for a fixed lens
was (a) because standard SLR lenses can not match the resolution of such
CCD's and (b) because it removes the problem of dust getting into the
camera. Several optional lens attachments will be available including:
Macro lens add-on, 3x tele, 1.45x wide angle and 0.8x wide angle.
Olympus Camedia E-100RS
Also
mentioned on the same page is a new 1.5 megapixel 10 x optical stablised
zoom digicam named the E-100RS which supports SmartMedia and CF Type II
(which may lead us to presume the E-10 also supports CF Type II) and a
super high speed burst rate of 15 frames per second. Priced at 160,000
YEN (~$1,500).
