Just received an announcement from Modular One Designs about an alternative to Nikon's SK-E900 Flash Bracket, their bracket of a significantly different design offers a viable alternative to the Nikon bracket. "It consists of two parts: The main bracket for hand held flash shots and an Auxiliary Attachment (see it at their web site) that provides for a standard shutter release cable when used on a tripod."

Modular One Displays, Inc. of Richfield, Utah today announced they will be producing The Rollbar flash bracket specifically designed to work with the Nikon CoolPix 990. It consists of two parts: The main bracket for hand held flash shots and an Auxiliary Attachment (see it at their web site) that provides for a standard shutter release cable when used on a tripod.

Prototypes will be available for review in a couple of weeks or so and production is targeted for later this summer. Pricing will be announced on their web site when it becomes available. They are also working on modified versions of The Rollbar for use with other Nikon 9xxx series
digital cameras as well as other brand name cameras which were manufactured without a hot shoe or standard shutter release socket.
