After an update there has to be a power down and reboot, so it may be that you only just completed the FULL procedure...?? (shrugs)

Switching around from one focus point to another is only really necessary when the camera position is fixed, say, when on a tripod.

No. Depth of Focus is something other than Depth of Field... They are closely related, but they are not the same.

As a photographer of long experience, I don't think the LX3 lens is a good candidate for a UV unless used with a top quality filter fitted on a proper mount tube like that sold by Panasonic...

Oh yes. In those lenses that can be used on more than one format, it WOULD still need specifying by format size in use. There is no way 'round that .....
