Sony already packed 20MP on a 1" sensor in...

to see in the dark an EVF is much better than an OVF (in theory) as many military applications already proof. Who would try to see in the dark with a pure optical device ?

You can not change lenses on a RX100, this is the main reason why I buy a system camera.Maybe the RX100 kann make the standard kit lens obsolete, but I'm not even sure about that.EM-5 + 9-18 +...

most people would like to have background blur in the tele range and sharp corners for their wideangle shots. But somehow you have to explain the lens flaws :-) It's not a bug, it's a feature...

Try those calculations for the Olympus XZ-1 or the Fuji X10 and you will see, that less DOF is possible in a compact camera.

sooner or later Nikon will use this or a similar sensor in their 1 system, too.So -for me- sensor size is not a main decision point in a system camera anymore, even 1" is simply good enough for me...

My camera park is very old (Sony F717, Olympus E-1 and Ricoh GX-100).This year I will exchange this to new stuff, a small camera and a system camera. For the small camera I already bought an XZ-1...

the problem with my RX100 is the lens performance. It is very bad at close ups and in the corners. Stopping down doesn't help much either. Most likely that's a compromise you have to be willing make...

PS: I doubt that the soft corners are realted to bad QC on the Sony lens, I think that this is a design decission.matching a small lens optimiced to look good on the spec sheet to a 1" sensor seems...

I bought both to try them.Video on the Sony is much better, no contest. The Sony sensor is much better, no contest. The Olympus lens is much better (in the corners and at close distances), no...

I'm in the market for a replacement for my ageing Ricoh GR100 so it happened that I bought both, an Olympus XZ-1 and a Sony RX100, to try them for myself.Compared to the Olympus the Sony has an...

I now own a RX100 myself.I think that the sensor / jpg engine is fantastic for the 2,2µm small pixels, but the lens is below average.Sure, it#s sharp in the center even wide open,. but the corners...

Have you ever seen a tele version of the Sony R1, the Canon G1X or some of the "premium compact cameras"?
I have not.If you want a 2nd camera to add tele options to the RX100 why not buy a...
