I also get it. The vf-4 is a very nice option for people who need better or who will buy there first EVF. Just like camera's. I don't need the 16mp sensor. That's why I still use the E-PL1 and will...

My eyes, my eyes!! What did they do with the OM? Why is it so ugly? But nice interchangeable grip, even with flash.
Aldo, to bad that Olympus didn't continue to develop AF on the OM. Than maybe...

I am happy I made the choice more than a year ago. Had to choose between Aperture 3 and Lightroom 3. Looks like I never going to use an Adobe program (except for reader and flash player).
-
I think it's a nice new EVF. I have the VF-2 and am happy with is. So it won't get replaced.
But for people who have no EVF and want one it's a great extra choice. To bad Olympus and Panasonic...

I do agree with you Tedolph.
After I bought the E-PL1 wit kitlens I bought (in order) the 40-150, VF-2, 12mm, 45mm.
Love the IQ of the old 12mp sensor. It is good enough for me. Sure in some...

Thank you. But how can it be? I just got it form a rumor site....
Edit: I see. They just used some old charts.
The news is only:
. Japanese Companies produced 44% less cameras (14,4 Million...

A news article on sony alpha rumors got my attention.

How bigger the mount the more change...

Entirely different build quality. The E-P3 is a tank, the NEX-7 is a nice/good camera but not the same build quality. Compare it with the E-PL5 would be better.

And it happens to be that you are the one who decides who is a 'real enthusiast'? People decides for themselves if they see themselves as real enthusiast and what for equipment they need.
-
People are asking for a lot of things. And always find something new to ask for. I think Olympus did do some marketing research and came to the conclusion that now is not the time for such a model.
-
And a black 45mm f1.8. Word is also that they aren't limited like the 12mm.
-
Good news, they did it over a year ago. Take a look at the E-M5.

Yesterday in Europe it was on sale on iBOOD. Only 349 euro with the 14-42 kitlens.
Bought it as a replacement for my E-PL1. Am happy wit the IQ but it lacks control.

It will not happen. Just like Panasonic and Olympus won't join the E-Mount. Many E-Mount users which for things like IBIS, weather sealing and lenses and don't get it yet. Sony has chosen this path...
-
It's just a marketing term. Just like al the other crap the camera company's wants us to believe.
But I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to lower the frequency of new body's. A 3 year cycle is good...

I have seen pictures of a Panasonic event who state this is false.
Yes. And probably they keep on gaining marketshare. Because Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung embrace new technology. Some...

I own a E-PL1 with the VF-2 and it looks also big. This E-P5 with new VF-4 doesn't look bigger to my eyes. If the back-screen of the E-PL1 wasn't so terrible I probably wouldn't use it so much.
-
Or a E-PL5 kit with the 14-42IIR and 40-150R for 750 euro.
A very nice kit. Small, light and good image quality with a very large range.

Maybe mirrorless is unpopular in some parts of the world, maybe it isn't. Maybe it just takes some time.
Al I can see is that m4/3 as a system is rising. Olympus is back in the game and it's taken...
