Pentax made a 20mm f1.4 lens back in 1976 but unfortunately it didn't make it into production - http://www.bdimitrov.de/kmp/lenses/primes/_prototype/K20f1.4.html
AbrasiveReducer: Not sure I see the need if the filters are in brass mounts. Aluminum does jam but that's because it's not brass. Still, this seems like a good idea, and if it catches on all filters will soon have knurled rings.
A screw-in filter does nothing for weather-sealing so the notion that some lenses require one for that purpose is laughable.
Gesture: That kit lens goes for about $50 on eBay. This should cost no more than $450. It's the entry level model. Design and engineering for OVF, moving mirror, meter off the whatever has been amortized years ago.
And $50 is exactly the difference between body only and body + lens prices. No need to risk ebay. Prices will rapidly adapt to the market just like every other camera out there.
MPA1: If only they would join the 21st century and make an AF version.
Contax AX film SLR did just that. Would probably be easier to engineer moving the sensor assembly today than moving the film plane like they did back then.
Ann Chaikin: What is the point of rating users? Is it a contest? I can see filtering out those who just want to be trolls but other than that... why?
I would prefer an option to opt out of any user rating system. This type of popularity contest is one of the worst aspects of social media.
Ferruccio Lamborghini certainly could and did buy Ferraris. He started making his own cars because the Ferraris were always breaking down and he reckoned he could do better after Enzo Ferrari ignored his complaints.
Entry system broken, impossible to enter.
Wonderful shot, just perfect.
